Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 74929242 United States 04/28/2021 04:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That’s kinda exactly why we taking this trip. To find a spot. The answer to your question is... Depends on where u are. San Cristobal was good for freedom from masks, same with Oaxaca, here is Mazatlán almost nobody wears them. All this could change in a hour if the news told a certain area to go into red. They are like sheep here for the most part, in the USA a lot of folks won’t go along with it, here it is very little besides in a few select spots. Sorry it couldn’t be a better answer |

Peaceplz User ID: 79390114 United States 04/28/2021 07:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP, I have vowed not to give Mexico one cent. Mexico hasn't lifted one finger to secure their country so that their people don't need to flee like rats in to the US and suck off our public resources. Why don't they fix their own country instead of entering the US illegally? You are giving them your US dollars and perpetuating the bullshit. What state are you from? Probably not a border state? Why don't you travel in the US and help out small businesses here? Your thinking is skewed. |

Actually I don’t like giving money to certains companies and gov. In Mexico I don’t worry about the cops. I have been here for two years and have not heard one time a Mexican tell me they are going to the USA to escape Mexico. 99% of Mexican seem very kind and content with their job here. Most the illegals are from the countries under Mexico. I think Mexico should sue the USA gov for giving free shit to illegals which lures them to travel through Mexico to get to the land of the free shit. Puts a burden on Mexico’s system . |

From Mazatlán to Durango was a super pretty drive, as we got up to about 9,500 ft. Passed through a area with I would gues 50 tunnels through mountains, ‘‘twas neat . Headed to Ciudad Juárez next. |

You must be driving on the auto pista where the super tall bridge is and all the tunnels, which is a neat area. Are you going to visit the city of Durango or just pass through it on the way to Juarez. This morning I was talking to a guy who lives in Juarez and he said there is a lot of violence there again and robberies. be on high alert the further north you go. When you get to Torreon along the highway is the Galleria Mall and that area is really nice with a lot of American restaurants, hotels, and services. That would be a nice place to stay for the night. We always use the Real Inn and eat at Dennys and Tony Romans there. The trip along the auto pista from Durango to Torreon is rather safe. |

What's the best spot you have been to so far and why? Mexico actually has more murders than our wars in the middle east, especially as a gringo, not thinking a good idea, especially with children :( Oh, and BTW, I used to live on the border in Texas when I was a kid, was rough even then, and yes, you did need bribe money as all the police were corrupt. |
Keilani User ID: 77232079 United States 05/01/2021 02:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | NO, it's not, don't bring children there. Even as a kid when we lived on border, I did not feel safe when we would go into Mexico. Here's an old article about their murder rate being second only to Syria, and this was like five years ago, worse now: [link to english.alarabiya.net (secure)] |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77758479 United States 05/01/2021 02:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Mexico is very safe in most areas. To say it is not, is like saying the whole US is unsafe because you been to the middle of Baltimore. The drug murders, do you plan on messing with the cartels? That would make it unsafe as well. Nice people, they like Americans, like I said, go to Sayulita. All kinds of people, Latinos, Gringos, whatever hanging out together, eating good food, going to the beach, lots of little shops, etc., then tell me is is unsafe. |

Why don't you travel in the US and help out small businesses here? Your thinking is skewed. Your post makes no sense. You want the people who are trying to come to Mexico fix their country instead of trying to go to the US? As if they had any power to do so? If you knew anything about Mexico you'd know there is a caste system there. From middle class and below, they are completely on their own. We go to Mexico 2-3 time a year. I've been 5 times since the pandemic: Mazatlan, Cancun and Cabo 3 times. If you saw how the Mexican people lived (even considered middle class) it would break your heart (and they are the nicest people you'll ever meet). As much as I'd like the US to fix the border and immigration system to make it easier to vet and process people who want to come here, I completely understand why so many want to - Mexico has no social programs, no welfare, no unemployment.
