Yep. The "Chicken snakes" I find in my coop this time of year have rattles though.

Weirdly we have never had a problem with snakes. Opossums, coons and foxes are our biggest problems.

Die from old age would be preferable.

The wife just said "When we do see a snake it's dead because the sumo raptors killed it".

A couple years back we caught and relocated 6 grey Fox. They are very cool.

The meat birds are. They waddle like sumo wrestlers, ha.

For the most part we have easter eggers, dark cornish, and black austrolorps.

Many black snakes here, skinny, long, harmless. Some are shorter, mating & bound together yuk...Not crazy about snakes

We really like our black Australorps

With their very pointy noses and tiny mouth. Precious I think foxes don't like their feet wet. Jumping, jumping at dawn over the field.

We enjoyed watching groups of them dancing in front of our game camera at night.

We have skinny black snakes that move very fast.

I let snakes, opossums go with no problem. Opossums eat tons of ticks, and mice, all of which i hate. Coons, you just outsmart them, I was up to 18 last year, and there's always a new one to take it's place. Turkey Vultures were happy though, as I just heaped them out back.

Our issues are raccoons who have eaten a handful of our call ducks. we have since coon proofed our cage.

Chicken snakes are not venomous. Back when we got our very first 6 baby chicks three of them got eaten by a big chicken snake the next day.
Talk about pissed off.
