I think it helped but getting kids out of the system was not always easy because the mom might be in rehab or something and the goal was to eventually try to place the kids back with their birth families if possible, depending on why they were removed. |

You can only adopt kids out of the system who's parental rights have been terminated and there are a lot of them. If you can't adopt for real reasons, fine but don't make excuses. In fact, next time you read or hear someone upset about it, ask them what they have done to help. |

And the only people that are waiting in line are the people that want a newborn. I think people adopting to fulfill their need of having a child should be evaluated more so than the people that are adopting to help a child in need. The former are more likely to turn them back to the system because the kid didn't meet their expectations. The latter usually understand what they are getting themselves into. |
