Learning to preserve foods. They are not just for old redneck bars. I use the brine left over from a jar of Claussen pickles and fill it with boiled eggs. You can add more garlic, crushed red pepper, etc, if you like. I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you. Slake Blake |

Mmm Tried doing it with green beans but it didn't work. |

I heat it first, put the hot juice in a clean jar, then drop the hard-boiled eggs into the jar. Refrigerate overnight at a minimum. And they get better the longer they pickle. Frikin' awesome. They sell a brand of spiced vinegar her called Datu Puti. It's loaded with onions garlic and chili. Virtually nothing to do. Boil eggs and add the spiced vinegar. My grandma used to make pickled green beans and they were really good. I wish I knew how she did it. Pickled green beans are good in bloody marys. Ever heard of long yellow peppers filled with sour kraut and pickled? Yummm. |

Red Hot Chilean Pepe User ID: 79780291 Chile 05/04/2021 04:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am not a fan of pickled eggs because acid foods in general upset my stomach, but pickling food and a very good source of nutrients as eggs is a very good old technique that can very useful in times of uncertainty. When you can't depend on electricity for food storage, pickling is a very good way to keep food available. All great truths begin as Blasphemies. G.B.S.
