Think about it. Constant observation by skynet. Smart dust everywhere. Super computers under ground running the planet, directing everyone, and telling them what to think. There's no way an alien could get close to Earth and make contact with it.

Im trying to set apart the consequences of what appears to be an alien invasion versus an actual invasion.

none of those things equal making it impossible for "aliens" to get here. if anything they would be factors in the scenario...minor details at best.

They are Interdimensional. People don't have a context for that. Think about it, why in the world would aliens come this far from home? Out of boredom? To make friends? A race that advanced is far beyond curiosity. The only thing they could want would be natural resources and that coule just as easily be obtained from planetoids far closer to their home. Seriously makes no sense.

Some of them pass through the barriers of realities intentionally and still others pass through accidentally by simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time and falling through holes in the barrier of their world .

Some are advanced and some are simple life forms with little measurable intelligence . Few of those coming in accidentally survive more then a brief moment because our environment is to hostile to their physiology .

Rarely but periodically a species passes through the barrier into our world and the environment matches their native reality closely enough that they can survive here and continue to exist and more often then not they are nt alone when blundering though the barrier so our world receives a new possibly viable species and inhabitant .

It is a very rare occurrence some what like winning a lottery with one winner drawn from all the inhabitant's of the universe .

There is another aspect to this. That is that each body has a unique observation of the universe and humans serve as a method to explore the universe through a combination of senses that are unique to the capacity that they live.
