And, it isnt like it is something that gradually started to happen. It started happening all at once. The Federal government is paying them too much money on extended unemployment so people have no incentive to go to work. This policy, although well intended at the time, is killing small businesses. bullshit |

Quoting: Uncle Gintel It a lack of common sense workers rights in this country. A business should have to have a certain amount of staff per money made or customers servered. They understaff to save money and then nobody can take a day off when their kid is sick bc there is nobody to cover. That is not living in a great nation. Our grandfathers didn't fight in WW2 so we could be treated like Chinese slaves. They didn't fight WW2 to have businesses shut down and their employees forced to wear masks and the entire population subjected to a planned mass depopulation event which is on par to match the exact thing they were supposedly fighting against- Evil Empires with suicidal emperor worshipers and Industrial/Fascist Regimes murdering people they no longer to pay or maintain in their concentrations camps. Let's recall that during war time the war workers take bigger risks but also get their own sort of paper money. Red and then blue in two weeks to defeat the counterfeiters. Generals know what paper money is. But can any General actually be a CEO? These are the questions. |

IF you have a fiat currency, forcing a living wage becomes inflationary pretty quickly. I'm with you, people should be able to live off the wages they get, you want to blame business owners but the real problem is the federal reserve and central banks. Why do you think it was so hard for our forefathers back in the old country? That's right, Europe has been under this kind of a system for a really long time. Why do you think our constitution expressly forbid precisely the banking system we have today? Because our founding fathers knew how such systems erode ones freedom. The Brian Dead here do not understand the problems of having a centralized foreign bank running everything. |

You don't pay a living wage to a group of people who have limited skills. These types of jobs have always been for high school, college or retirees..not to support a family or even an individual, but to supplement. The reason people are not working is because xiden is paying them not to work. Come on now, do you honestly believe a $15 dollar wage will do anything for the unskilled worker? It will only ensure that businesses raise their prices which will come around to bit the butt of the low income earner, anyway. Many a time for the last some years these same people who demand $15 an hour can not possibly properly do their job. I would not pay them $15 an hour under all circumstances. I would be hesitant to even pay them Minimum Wage. Conspiracy Theorist is nothing more than a derogatory title used to dismiss a critical thinker. I have been understaffed for 6 months, and we have been busier than ever. The mall that I work in recently increased hours and we can not run the longer hours because I don't have the staff to do it. I am good at my job, top of the company and loved it until recently. I literally expect to get fired at any time because of all of the policies that I am breaking daily just to get my jobe done because I can't find anyone who wants a job. Those of us that are trying to keep it going are not going to be able to do it much longer. We are burnt out and exhausted. This is when people say screw it and start walking off the job. So now we all know what effect Universal Income would have on people and the local economies. Quoting: GA Girl Young adults don't see a reason to work if they get high unemployment for being off. High school kids are mostly too lazy to work. That leaves a lot of older people trying to supplement their pitiful $1000 monthly Social Security checks. However, until you are over full retirement age, you can only make something like $18,000 a year before they take away your Social Security. So the stores are trying to get these older people to work 50 hour weeks, and then they, too, have to quit. They could alleviate much of this by taking out the $18,000 rule for people in their 60s who are still able to work long hours, take away the Unemployment from people who have been out of work for over 6 months, and stop the rent/house payment moratorium. I live in North Georgia as well. I see all the signs everywhere for hiring but haven’t seen the closures yet. I have noticed several places having very small staff and unable to keep up with busy times. It breaks my heart because I know there’s someone there doing the job of 5 people and getting no reward for working extra hard. What places around NGA have you seen closing? I belong to several North Georgia County Facebook groups and it's been a hot topic of conversation for awhile now. Mostly what happens is that a restaurant will close at 8 (or Dunkin Doughnuts at 4) due to lack of help, or perhaps not open one night, or a store will be closed one day and some gas stations won't open on Sunday, that kind of thing. It's not been any permanent closures due to lack of help yet. There is also a huge backlog for service people. It might take you 3 months to get somebody in to paint your house, remodel your kitchen, or take out some trees. |
