But why cant dogs be fed a vegan diet if properly supplemented with b, d vitamins and whatever else is missing that meat supplied before? Sounds reasonable and a good way to end all the factory farming of animals, saving a lot of suffering and resources too. All dog food seems to be corn loaded with vitamin supplements anyway

Your dog or cat requires meat, period. If that goes against your beliefs don't abuse the animal so you can feel better about yourself. It's this whole nonsense bullshit that we think we can attribute our arbitrary beliefs and agendas on the natural world. Blue Jays don't have 439853498 fucking genders... dogs and cats need to eat meat.
