Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79724041 There should only be one grade of car gas, it would reduce production costs considerably. Nope. I can't put anything but 93 octane in my car. Your cars engine ECM will adjust for the lower octane or if you are really worried you can put an octane booster additive from any number of stores. Your ECM adjusts the cylinder compression??? I think you meant the fuel/air ratio, which has nothing to do with octane ratings. If you have a high compression engine, do not use a lower octane! Use what the manufacture recommends. Yes, modern cars can change compression on the fly. Been around for like 30 years, called variable valve timing. |

This will begin the well laid plan of 'them' to stop supply lines. No fuel, no deliveries, no travel, no food. Stock up guys. I filled up 80 gallons worth of jerry cans and put another 120 gallons worth of diesel in my trucks and my one trucks bed mounted tanks. Damn near 550 bucks worth of fuel and I wish I had a more containers. I have 12 trucks in my tree business fleet and I'm stressing. That's about another 1000 gallons of diesel I need weekly. No fuel, no ability to run my trucks, no ability to pay my guys their pay, no bueno. I can float them all 2 weeks pay with no work but after that I don't know. Theres a few guys I'll do whatever it takes to make sure their family eats, since their practically family. When I checked the compression it hit 200 psi on 5 slugs before the half dead battery gave out. I never thought it would run on 93, let alone 87 octane but it continues to surprise me.
