Just stopped at our local shell, no mid grade or premium. 50 miles south of Nashville,TN
Quoting: liljohn There should only be one grade of car gas, it would reduce production costs considerably. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79724041 Nope. I can't put anything but 93 octane in my car. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78334463 You likely can. You just don't want to. Both my cars REQUIRE it. Not RECOMMEND it. One is a Chevy Volt with an 11:1 iron block 1.4l. I tried lesser grades in my cheaper days and after datalogging the knock sensor I knew I was flirting with disaster. The other is my 10.5:1 500 hp 388 Chevy in my truck. I have two tunes worked out so I can go along on regular gas if need be but it would be miserable. 24 degrees of timing vs 32 is really noticeable when you're trying to keep the knock sensor quiet. So what do you drive? Quoting: •Scott• Nice.
