Have y'all checked out the Tuttle twins books? I've purchased every one of them except for the toddler books. They are so good. I mean really really good. Definitely look into them if you haven't.

Shield your kids from Socialism

With our books, your children will learn things like:

Why a free market economy is the greatest way to lift people out of poverty and allow people to trade with one another.

How property rights allows us to decide what’s best for us, and make decisions for our family.

Why the world is a better place because of entrepreneurs who create businesses to help serve us and improve our lives.

What socialism is and why it is so destructive to our freedoms and well being.

How the Golden Rule is so important to people getting along with one another, no matter where we live, what we look like, or what we believe.

Why education is so important, and why children should be allowed to learn things they are interested in.

What true laws are, and why the government should protect our rights.

They have some sample pages: T for taxes. Government takes money from people whenever they earn, buy, or own things. That money, called taxes, is used for things politicians think are important.

I'm not sure what you are talking about or how what you said has to do with these books. These books are great to explain to children what the proper role of government should be. Perhaps I used the wrong phrase. The books aren't saying there should be no government but what the government under our constitution should be doing. And it gives them examples of how the government is f****** us.

So then when your kids read these books and understand the 'best' type of government is and how socialism is so bad...will you then have the conversation of how socialism is very much alive in the USA however it is socialism for the rich only. Capitalism died a long time ago. Now we just have socialism for the rich where the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank prints dollars and gives it to the biggest banks and corporations with the hope (gotta love hope as a strategy!) that it will trickle down to the masses.

I sincerely hope our kids can burn all these indoctrinations of 'isms' which have all been bastardised for their own agendas, and let the kids create a newer system which better represents their futures.
We have fucked up royally changing the concept of Capitalism and Socialism and now Fascism according to the headlines of the day.
Better to ditch these books and get our kids into the real world, making connections, loving nature, connecting to God/Source, being creative, being self sufficient with growing things, cooking, making things etc....and let them soar. They don't need second hand beliefs served up from a publishing house

Living books are great way to teach! I used the Charlotte Mason Method.

[link to simplycharlottemason.com (secure)]

<Snip>
Living Methods
For example, Charlotte’s students used living books rather than dry textbooks. Living books are usually written in narrative or story form by one author who has a passion for his topic. A living book makes the subject “come alive.”

And the students were required to tell back, or narrate, in their own words what was read in the living book, in order to secure it in their minds. No fill-in-the-blank or multiple-choice for them; they practiced using rich language as they pointed out the ideas they gleaned from the reading and any mental connections they made between it and other ideas already residing in their growing minds and hearts.

She taught handwriting and spelling by using passages from great books that communicate great ideas rather than using just a list of words.

She encouraged spending time outdoors, interacting with God’s creation firsthand and learning the living ways of nature.

She introduced the work of great artists and composers to her students and let them spend time with each, getting to know their works personally.

She spread before her students a feast of ideas from a wide variety of sources—from Shakespeare to knitting to Bible to tramping through field and stream to algebra to singing to foreign languages. And woven throughout it all, she emphasized the habits of full attention, best effort, and learning for the sake of learning.

All designed to help the child grow; for we learn, to grow.

It’s no wonder that many homeschoolers have adopted her philosophy and methods as they seek to educate the whole child!
