Misleading article. The cards they mention that sold for a lot of money are vintage and rare. The new sets might have a card worth thousands but it wouldnt be likley.

Why not just ban the assholes from the store instead.

You just know the store managers are going to riffle through the inventory that they can't sell.

Man I forget about pokemon cards. I used to collect them when I was like 13ish over 20 years ago. Used to ride my bike 5 miles from school to the gas station and get a pack everyday and after the gas station I would hit the bank and get those sacajawea dollar coins with my left of money. I still have 3 huge notebooks full of every american and japanese pokemon first edition. I want to pass them on to my son 1 day hopefully they will provide a windfall. I looked the prices up like 10 years ago and was surprised. Could only imagine another 20-30 years of value. Good memories, would spend 4 hours after school riding my bike all over town then back home just to open the pack and put them in there place.
