Bears need a place to live, like a cave or or something, suitable places to live are few and far between, they can't just lay down on the ground

there aren't many bears in downtown Portland (real ones)

although the Portland Zoo used to have a terrific polar bear exhibit, you could get face to face with one through thick plexiglass - it was thrilling to see the hate in their eyes an inch or two away

Bear liver is best

Well I had a large Brown Bear in my backyard last year. I was about 10 feet away, watching him dig through my neighbors trash bin. When I go for walks around orchards, I always see bear shit. I live in the Okanagan. Never any bear attacks here. They are cool.
