I've worked in this profession for two decades now and no raises. Small colleges don't pay well. Time to get a job at Culvers, I suppose. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79258468 Wow, surprised to hear that. How much are they charging for tuition at your university? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79258468 Wow, surprised to hear that. How much are they charging for tuition at your university? This is standard for small colleges, especially those second tier ones. Tuition is $33,000 but they offer all kinds of scholarships so it often ends up being cheaper for the student than going to a state school. But we don't have the resources and faculty are paid poorly and overworked. My 21 year old daughter makes more than me working the call center. |

It means other companies will have to increase their pay or lose employees. Looks like wage battles are coming. Those hard jobs that pay shit will go out of business soon unless 35 an hr. State IT employees where I'm at make around $22/hr. They need certifications/education/experience. Who would get an education if you can just work fast food for the same? This is just so dumb. |

This is also how Russia fell. Who wants to be a scientist and make the same money as a ticket taker at the movies? They all said F-it, started stealing everything they could on the way down, and the rest is history. |
