The vast majority of NHS services are free at the point of use.

This means that people generally do not pay anything for their doctor visits, nursing services, surgical procedures or appliances, consumables such as medications and bandages, plasters, medical tests, and investigations, x-rays, CT or MRI scans or other diagnostic services. Hospital inpatient and outpatient services are free, both medical and mental health services.

As of May 2019 the NHS prescription charge in England was £9 for each quantity of medicine[60] (which contrasts with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland[61] where items prescribed on the NHS are free). People over sixty, children under sixteen (or under nineteen if in full-time education), patients with certain medical conditions, and those with low incomes, are exempt from paying.

In other words, you don't need those medications, they are optional.

If you really needed them to live, they would be free.

Optional prescriptions

and poor people do get everything free without paying anything.

Again the bulk of normal working people in your country are paying for everyone's healthcare through their taxes.

And yes it is free to anyone.

if you are poor you pay nothing at all ever

are you going to argue that?

if you have a certain medical condition that requires prescriptions to live, you pay nothing for that prescription

i think it's you who doesn't understand your own healthcare system
