There’s a reason restaraunts pay wait staff 2$ an hr... payroll is one of the highest expenses already! I used to run a two man taco shop where I paid me and the other guy 8$. No it will not. people need to understand that large corps and small businesses can afford to pay workers higher minimum wages. Inflation is here and workers need the purchasing power they had before.

Just remember, the absolute minimum wage is $0.00/hr. If you're not worth $15, they can always fire you.

Though I agree to some degree. Used to be small business owners did well, but weren't rich by any means and as time has gone on, they all expect to open a business and be millionaires in a few years.

Americans said that they hated freedom 100 years ago because the environment was dirty, there were murders, and medicine was dangerous, but the US is now a police state and the environment is still dirty, there are still murders, and medicine is still dangerous.

You obviously are clueless to the costs involved just to open a business. The land it's on. The buildings, etc. Notice your food prices going up? They go up for the restaurant owner too. He/she has no choice but to raise menu prices. Then there is the theft and breakage from employees. I can't serve you a burger and a draft beer for less than $20. I get to keep maybe $2. A hot waitress or bartender clears more in tips than the owner does after expenses. It takes 20 employees to serve you a burger and a beer in a building sitting on real estate and every square inch of it is risk and financial liability. I make more cleaning a bar than the guy does who owns it.

A living wage. Let’s talk about it! At McDonald’s they now pay 13 dollars an hour, good, yet the meal price went up 20 cents. The big money corps don’t ever pay over yearly, sure you make more, yet you buy the same for more money. They will never pay anything, and Congress is fucking paid off, They get a kickback on everything!

And I do love our local small businesses! I love having them there. BUT they exist because there is value there - not because they are "mom and pop".

It’s amazing how short sighted people are, without small businesses the Fortune 500 companies will own your ass, literally. When they have a monopoly on jobs, they will pay you near nothing and squeeze you for every scent. This is not about the good of the people.

They tried using shutdowns to drive small businesses out, but people pushed back, so now they are draining the pool of workers so small business can’t afford to hire but only large companies can.

Net result? Run small businesses out of businesses without looking like the bad guys.

By GLP logic there is no minimum acceptable wage that people can live on or work for. Every time wages get raised someone MUST get the axe.

So logically why don't we pay everyone a nickel an hour and that way each small business can hire countless employees and the unemployment problem will vanish overnight!!!!!!
