Are your memories all of the sudden awful?

I am suddenly being told of things that happened in my family’s past that I was not aware of. Bad things. I thought we had a pretty descent life until now.
But my point isn’t that. My point is... how can we tell if the creator one day, decides to change our memories, therefore changing our past.
We would never be able to tell if it is the past or only our memories that changed. Sort of an explanation for the Mandela effect.
Seems to me that the creator is pretty upset lately, giving us a bunch of terrible memories. What do you think?
