All you have to do is heat it to kill Listeria. So they're going to recall thousands of pounds rather than reminding dumbasses to heat it to a safe temp?

Most of the stuff went to religious food distribution organizations and churches.

Do it on purpose maybe?? Then got catched red hands and got a recall??

Suspiciously it seems to be.

That was my initial thought as well.

I'm guessing it was cooked to hide that it was of poor quality.

That is true however this meat has already been cooked and may go to homeless people that don't have the means to heat up a meal.
I can imagine that the food banks may repackage a 4 lb bag and redistribute it as in sandwiches, salads..etc.
If these peeps don't have any knowledge of a recall, some could get seriously ill.

Consumption of food contaminated with L. monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns. Less commonly, persons outside these risk groups are affected.

I can see this in our current situation as potentially dangerous IMO.

Hoping that isn't the case but with everything going on ya never know.
