The three screwed up in the coverup was the only thing that got them. They would have walked if they would have gotten their lies straight on the reports and questioning (or even moderately close).

But no sweat for the cop lovers because the judge will confuse the jury by instructing them that this isn't about wrecklessly putting people in danger and to only convict of the cops veered from their training. At which point the PD will break out their bounty of training manuals explaining how to choke people into submission in each and every way and the jury will scream NOT GUILTY THEY FOLLOWED PROTOCOL! as they always do.
