Furious iPhone users say Apple’s latest update is killing battery life
iPhone users who have installed Apple’s latest software update, iOS 14.6, are complaining that it’s draining their batteries — sometimes killing a full charge in mere hours.

Many owners of older iPhone models complained about the update’s destructive impact on battery life.

“The situation is so bad that I can not work with the iPhone 7 for 2 hours and it runs out of charge,” one said.

But the issue is reportedly hitting even Apple’s most recent iPhone models. “14.6 is draining my iPhone 12 Pro battery……………………,” one user wrote.

"iOS 14.6 includes the option to unlock iPhone with Apple Watch while wearing a face mask, adds support for AirTag, and introduces separate skin tone variations for emoji with couples. Siri adds more diverse voice options, and App Tracking Transparency lets you control which apps are allowed to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites."

Re: Furious iPhone users say Apple’s latest update is killing battery life
YouTube channel iAppleBytes found “terrible results” in battery performance with the new update, and demonstrated the battery performance in a video test.

Two of the earliest models tested, the iPhone SE and the iPhone 6S, died within three hours, while the iPhone SE2020 died in just over three hours.

“This is the still worst battery result I have ever seen on my devices,” iAppleBytes concluded at the end of the video, which was posted on May 24. “Your experience may be different, but this is not something I have seen on a similar scale before. Fingers crossed for a quick iOS 14.6.1…”

The latest version also mines crypto currency as a background task, the proceeds of which go to Apple of course.

Packet captures show this to be true.

New Warning Issued For Millions Of iPhone 12 Users:

This week the Journal of the American Heart Association (JAHA) published its findings from a new study into the potential health risks caused by MagSafe, the magnetic charging system Apple built into every iPhone 12 model. JAHA concluded that the iPhone 12 range “has the potential to inhibit lifesaving therapy.”

The problem stems from Magsafe’s potential to cause electromagnetic interference with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), which include pacemakers and defibrillators. JAHA said its tests found that CEIDs can be disrupted by a magnetic field of as little as 10 G [gauss] while “The magnetic field strength of the iPhone 12 Pro Max can be greater than 50 G when in direct contact.”

“Our case series has several clinical implications,” explains JAHA. “People often put their smartphones in a breast pocket over a device which can be in close proximity to CIEDs. This can lead to asynchronous pacing or disabling of anti‐tachycardic therapies.”

Re: Furious iPhone users say Apple’s latest update is killing battery life
I've only bought one Apple product and it was a used 2015 MacBook Pro I got for around $1k. It's been good in some areas, but in other areas it's a massive headache.

For example I started using a USB 3.0 adapter for ethernet connection and it worked fine at first. But then it stopped recognizing it and would only work if it was connected before I turned the computer on, it wouldn't work if I plugged it in while on. Then it stopped working altogether until luckily one of the major updates fixed it.

Also there's more annoying things like I'm not able to choose the resolution when I remotely login with screen sharing. This means it runs at 2K resolution and lags like hell because the CPU can't keep up. No GPU acceleration. Absolute crap.

Also the under-volting app I paid money for stopped working. Disabling SIP doesn't fix it anymore. That means it no longer runs cool and quiet.. it runs hot and fans are constantly screeching up and down.

Logic Pro X doesn't recognize new my plugins I try to install.. this is a common problem now with no fix yet nearly a year later.

The rubber frame around the screen is now peeling like crazy now and looks like crap. I take care of the laptop too..

What a mess Apple is. Never going to buy anything from them again. I'm glad I didn't buy this laptop new.

I had a 2012 MBP. It was nice and cool and I enjoyed the MacOS. I ended up deciding to get a desktop since I was a civilian again and work didn't require a laptop. I donated it after 2 years of collecting dust to a local community co-op garden to help them keep their records.

The platform simply worked, at first.

Can't help but think the poor performance is a result of backdoors being added over time.

Probably.

You can turn a lot of that tracking crap off in the settings, but I’d imagine that there’s some telemetry you can’t see or disable…
