Since I lived in Clearwater all throughout the 80s, went to Clearwater High School then a trade school, still have family in Largo, Pinellas Park, Clearwater, Sarasota, and Tarpon Springs. I know the area well. So let me paint a picture for you.

The whole area, and most of the state is a shithole because of all the transplants. The natives are the greatest people, but the massive amount of transplants have brought a majority of friggin idiots, jerks, weirdos, flakes, losers, criminals, and douches on Florida. Nothing like randomly coming across narcissistic New York City douchebags everyday, or liberal turds from the North West US region. THESE PEOPLE ARE THE IDIOTS THAT REPRESENT THE "FLORIDA MAN" JOKE. The actual real Florida man is smart, self-reliant, no nonsense, hard working, and moral.

Everywhere you look are dregs that fled other states for one reason or another that literally outnumber the natives. The crime is through the roof! Anything not bolted down is stolen. You have to watch your property like a hawk because every night there are thieves on the prowl. Assaults, domestic violence, murder, stalkers, rapists, diddlers, and drugs permeate everything. Sound nice yet?

Hope you like ghetto culture, because in the last 25 years it's exploded down there and black ghetto types are EVERYWHERE now. In 1980s Clearwater they were mainly in the Greenwood area and would attack any whites that even drove through there with rocks, bottles, mac 10s, Uzi's, whatever they had. But now, they have spread out and have taken over everything from Clearwater all the way down to St. Pete, and let me assure you, they don't like you and see you as a sucker.

The schools are so filled with this that there are stories about white kids being beat and harassed. The schools are filled with drugs, ghetto culture, and liberal teachers. Random attacks, shootings, and stabbings of bicyclers, park patrons, pedestrians, with many dying. There's been at least 7 cases of serial murders in the Tampa Bay area (Tampa, Clearwater, Dunedin, even up to the Spring Hill area). Prostitution is everywhere. You can't drive a single mile in a 100+ miles stretch of 19 in that area without seeing a dirty whacked out prostitute walking on the side of the roads.

Homeless people are EVERYWHERE. At stoplights, exits, etc., Nothing like going to get yourself some BK and by the drivethru exit is some homeless dude holding a sign at you, with wet piss covering the front of his pants and poop smeared all over himself to help boost your appetite. But Tampa at least gives them ORANGE VESTS now like some kind of highway workers to keep those panhandlers safe while they harass you when your stopped at lights.

The traffic is horrendous. It's not unusual to take 45 minutes to travel 7 miles, EVERYDAY. And the road rage is rampant because of the mixture of driving styles and expectations. Wrecks too. Lots and lots of wrecks compared to anywhere else I've ever seen. Myself, I got my license at 15 down there (no Drivers Ed) but I wouldn't want to have a kid learning to drive down there now, because it's even worse.

Speaking of kids. It's no place for kids. It's turned into an adult playground kind of like LV. It attracts drugs and degenerates. Sending your kid to school, you have to worry about abduction, stalking, rape, harassment, assault, or even run down by a car on a daily basis. It happens ALL THE TIME down there.

The cost of living is very high compared to other parts of the country. And the job pay is low. Imagine traveling from Clearwater to your underpaid job in Tampa and having to drive the crazy congested causeway day in day out. What a life!
Apartment complexes everywhere. Nice home neighborhoods require HOA crap. Sinkholes can pop up anywhere. And cockroaches in the millions upon millions EVERYWHERE.

I don't mind the wildlife. I enjoy the gators and snakes and whatever else, but the transplants and non residents bitch and moan about the wildlife and hate it. If there's a gator in their area they freak and want it removed. This pisses me off to no end and I wish somebody would remove them. People have to realize, if there's water, there's a gator, there's a snake, etc.,

Clearwater is totally owned by the Scientologists, the land, and the government. They are WEIRDOS big time. A spooky acting cult. Their HQ downtown has sentry's at guard at all times. I used to fuck with them for fun, kind of like whipping up the bee hive. They patrol the streets around their HQ, and if you even get near the HQ on a public sidewalk they will start following and stalking you. This is no shit. When they're conducting business at their HQ you can easily spot them because they all dress the same, black dress pants, white button down shirts. But when they're out and about they wear their regular clothes and can only be spotted by their weird NPC behavior.

Clearwater is weird. Anything south of Clearwater is a ghetto shithole: Largo, PP, St. Pete. etc., Same goes for all the dockside dives like Treasure Island, etc.,

Anything North of Clearwater is a little nicer: Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor, Oldsmar, Tarpon Springs. But once you past Tarpon Springs (The Pinellas-Pasco County Line) Pasco begins and it is somehow even worse. The real buttcrack of the area.
