It’s certainly interesting (and puzzling) to watch what many existing homeowners are doing. All they think are that “home prices are on fire” and “my house has doubled in value!” There seems to be a massive disconnect when it comes to buying their next house. As if those homes aren’t just as over-valued as the house they’re selling. All the while, going to a new, inflated, house eats up all their equity and puts them in a new, huge, mortgage for a house that may very well LOSE value in a few years. Soon, they find themselves upside down in a house they can’t afford. Banks swoop in, and you’re fucked.

The ONLY people that this market benefits are those who are massively downsizing, and (as usual) the banks. Yes, the stage is set for a huge move away from private home ownership.
