I've heard of this before, on Discovery actually. They aren't sure why they become sexual towards humans, because it's obviously not normal for different species to interact like that. Some think it's because of some sort of bond between us as intelligent creatures, others because they think they can sense or smell when a woman is in heat, and they react based solely on instinct.

But it's not bullshit, it has happened before.
