Now all the yokels can shoot each other when the power to the A/C goes off and they all go into a rage. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80494967 Hey 967, let us know something. You don't have a wife and kids, right? Have you ever felt the obligation to protect the innocent, or do you believe that is someone else's responsibility? Are you a high degree black belt? I'm guessing you've never been jumped or been the victim of a haneous crime. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73803802 Id like to add, im all for guns. But this is a total recipe for disaster. Too many shitty, drugged out psychos here. You think the drugged out psychos don't already have guns? Last I checked most druggies are already breaking the law by using drugs.... You think they used to give a shit what's legal and not legal with a gun? They have already been carrying them hidden under their clothing |

Also always be provided special legal protection for rendering protective help with that firearm. Last Edited by tkwasny on 06/16/2021 07:37 PM |

Abbott Signs 'Constitutional Carry' Bill Allowing Texans To Carry Handguns Without A Permit Our forefathers, way back in 1492 and forward, had guns. They hunted with them and protected their families with them. If folks are scared to death because a fit dude in a Home Depot is carrying a 45ACP on his hip while shopping, then they are the ones with the problem, not the gun-toting shopper. Our Constitution give all Americans the right to defend themselves. That document was written during a very tumultuous time with Great Britain being very aggressive with their taxes upon the American populace. Our forefathers used their guns to brush back the Brits so we could live free of tyranny. Wish more folks on GLP would read books on America's history. Starting with why the Pilgrims came to America and why Americans went to was for the sake of keeping our freedoms. |

So people can stop with the mock fear that there are going to be shootings everywhere because of this. Doesn't happen in other states that enacted same. No different in Texas. Just makes robbers have to wonder more if their potential victim is armed. trolls vs bots - we live in a scifi world |

BTW, I didn't take your poll though I'm Texan. I don't "support" any politician, but as long as Abbott keeps promoting things like this, pushing against the Federal encroachment, building our own border wall if need be, and making it illegal for ANY government entity to require masks and vaccines, then I will vote for his reelection. I know the original mask mandate came from him and that's not ok, but he has since then changed his tune. I would be glad to hear elaboration on what you have a problem when it comes to him, though, with no judgement. I'm all for more info, especially when it is about this state. |

I don't think he's even crippled. That's just his schtik. Remember why he said he couldn't attend the 2016 Republican Convention? He said he was injured from scalding water being poured on his "crippled" legs. FFS! They just troll us and troll us. |

But then again, I don't trust any politician. Understandable. I don't trust any of them either. In fact, that's part of the problem: We don't trust them, have a right to not trust them, but have no way of monitor and checking them when we have a problem with what they're doing. They should be terrified of pissing us off. And as long as THAT is in place, it doesn't matter to me who is in there. Know what I mean? As long as Texans are empowered to keep our representatives in line, we shouldn't have a problem with anyone doing the job. Because if they don't do right by us... didn't they used to tar and feather corrupt politicians? Feathers are just for humiliation. The tar is the fun part, I think. We can call ol' Abbott, "Governor Hot Wheels" |
