Hey 967, let us know something. You don't have a wife and kids, right?

Have you ever felt the obligation to protect the innocent, or do you believe that is someone else's responsibility?

Are you a high degree black belt?

I'm guessing you've never been jumped or been the victim of a haneous crime.

You think the drugged out psychos don't already have guns?

Last I checked most druggies are already breaking the law by using drugs.... You think they used to give a shit what's legal and not legal with a gun?

They have already been carrying them hidden under their clothing

Every active duty, veteran, retiree of the armed services, law enforcement, fire, rescue and EMT, along with their spouse, should be given a financial shove and other incentives to ALWAYS carry. Also always be provided special legal protection for rendering protective help with that firearm.

Re: Gov. Abbott Signs 'Constitutional Carry' Bill Allowing Texans To Carry Handguns Without A Permit
Our forefathers, way back in 1492 and forward, had guns. They hunted with them and protected their families with them. If folks are scared to death because a fit dude in a Home Depot is carrying a 45ACP on his hip while shopping, then they are the ones with the problem, not the gun-toting shopper.

Our Constitution give all Americans the right to defend themselves. That document was written during a very tumultuous time with Great Britain being very aggressive with their taxes upon the American populace. Our forefathers used their guns to brush back the Brits so we could live free of tyranny.

Wish more folks on GLP would read books on America's history. Starting with why the Pilgrims came to America and why Americans went to was for the sake of keeping our freedoms.

Castle Law had already extended right to have firearm in vehicle which, btw, cut down carjackings.

This just extends to on your person. Not as big a leap as people would have you believe.

So people can stop with the mock fear that there are going to be shootings everywhere because of this.

Doesn't happen in other states that enacted same. No different in Texas.

Just makes robbers have to wonder more if their potential victim is armed.

^This.

BTW, I didn't take your poll though I'm Texan. I don't "support" any politician, but as long as Abbott keeps promoting things like this, pushing against the Federal encroachment, building our own border wall if need be, and making it illegal for ANY government entity to require masks and vaccines, then I will vote for his reelection.

I know the original mask mandate came from him and that's not ok, but he has since then changed his tune.

I would be glad to hear elaboration on what you have a problem when it comes to him, though, with no judgement. I'm all for more info, especially when it is about this state.

After the covid BS I just don't trust him anymore. It's an embarrassment to Texans that Florida is leading the way on fighting the FEDS. Also, I believe he caved after the snowstorm about the grid. I would have to go look for the article that I'm talking about. Sure he is changing his tune now since reelection is coming. But I just don't trust him... But then again, I don't trust any politician.

Yeah. It will be a mess. Of course, that's what they want. Perry is no hero. I don't think he's even crippled. That's just his schtik. Remember why he said he couldn't attend the 2016 Republican Convention? He said he was injured from scalding water being poured on his "crippled" legs. FFS! They just troll us and troll us.

Criminals do not obey laws.

Sort of like banning drugs dose not work.

The question is do you want only the criminals to have the guns and to be able to kill at will?

Understandable. I don't trust any of them either. In fact, that's part of the problem: We don't trust them, have a right to not trust them, but have no way of monitor and checking them when we have a problem with what they're doing. They should be terrified of pissing us off. And as long as THAT is in place, it doesn't matter to me who is in there.

Know what I mean? As long as Texans are empowered to keep our representatives in line, we shouldn't have a problem with anyone doing the job.

Because if they don't do right by us... didn't they used to tar and feather corrupt politicians? Feathers are just for humiliation. The tar is the fun part, I think. We can call ol' Abbott, "Governor Hot Wheels" epiclol
