Back in the early sixties our nuns smoked in class. We'd answer questions with fake British accents because of the "London Fog" between us and the blackboard.

Nobody cared. I had asthma but had no issue with cigarettes. (Cats and dogs were my nemesis.)

Ashtrays were everywhere; in front of every elevator and stair well. At the bank there were ashtrays next to the wickets where the tellers stood behind the counter.

Nobody was scared.

People died from smoking but no one was going to give it up ,or refrain from starting, because it would probably kill you in forty years.


People were more grounded. Smoking was a pleasant habit, like coffee. It took the edge off.

Nowadays people are scared of their own reflection.

Not gonna do the research for you OP, but pretty sure there is a lot of evidence that smoking does in fact put you at risk for serious illness death.

Yep. My Mom just went into hospice. Lung cancer. She smoked 40 years.

They sure did! And it is nothing like you or anyone has imagined it to be. Of course, we all know that nicotine is addictive and how the Tobacco companies hid this fact from everyone including themselves.

However what they were actually doing for centuries with Tobacco was used to add flavor to human beings by the Reptilian aliens who live below us. Similar to how smoked meats, sausages, ham, bacon, etc taste more delicious with the extra smokiness flavor added to it.

The whole cigarette and tobacco smoking thing was socially trained into the human race for this very purpose. To make us more delicious than we already are. Apparently we taste like pork with an after taste of turtle.

The only family member(extended family) that got lung cancer, was the straight edge that never smoked or drank. Tobacco can cause cancer, but it is probably far more rare then they say(easy way to blame the effects of nuke testing and other toxins on something else).

The number one cause of lung cancer where I live is from radon poisoning.

The real killer that smoking causes is COPD. That is a bad way to die.

My dad died of lung cancer 31 years ago, and of course the culprit was smoking, although he'd been quit for years. What wasn't the culprit per the medical experts was his addiction to 4-Way Nasal Spray, or his time during WWII in the South Pacific watching nuclear tests, his addiction to speedy pills in the 60s and 70s, the fishing tackle box of pharms he carried around, or the bulimia. None of these caused the cancer, but smoking years earlier was what killed him per the doctors.

It was supposed to be weed rather than tobacco, other than that . . .
