Hey! I had a fun thread about flying down the stairs as a kid but I can't find it anymore.

I remember doing that but up and down stairs. I would jump and then float up or down the whole staircase.

Yes I had a whole thread about this. When I was small my friends brother spent a whole day teaching us to fly down the stairs, it was a thing I could do for a while - or at least it seemed so.

I started a thread and it ran for a while and was a lot of fun but I can't find it. Lemme try again.

Yes! I remember being able to fly and levitate too, I remember the feeling of focusing energy into my feet and just lifting off the ground

What's weirder is that I have that memory too. But there were no stairs in the house I grew up in.

Totally serious.

i saw 3 strange lights in the sky over the ocean. They moved in ways that helicopters and planes cannot. It was during sundown and they were lit pretty well. The moved for a bit and just vanished. It was many years ago I havent seen something strange like that before and since.

You see all these videos of ufo sightings and though I think they are neat never really believed they were ufos. Until I saw those 3 lights move the way they did, ufo videos now hold more meaning since.

Re: Have you ever experienced something so strange, that was real but no one will ever believe you ?
When my cat of 16 years passed away (had her since teenagehood), I was of course extremely sad.

A day after she passed, I was standing down in the basement at the washing machine, next to what we in our family call "the hell bathroom," lol.

The hell bathroom was an unfinished, dark, dank, moldy horrific looking bathroom (that worked), and near which I always felt a creepy feeling. I mean, obviously, you can feel a creepy feeling near a room like that, but I always felt there was something really "unhappy" in there, for lack of a better description.

I am not someone who has a lot of supernatural experiences, even though I would dearly love to (or at least have always imagined I would dearly love to). I felt the not-good feeling of that room, but never saw or experienced anything overt about it. Just knew it didn't feel good.

So, I'm standing at the washer and am absolutely overcome with grief. Any of you who've lost someone/something know this, probably--that moment after someone died, and you're just wracked with sobs you can't control, even sob out loud things like, "Where are you?", which I did, stricken with grief about my kitty and of course guilt, too, that I'd had her put to sleep.

Suddenly, there was a burst of something from the hell bathroom. The only way I can describe it is that, as I was standing at the washer absolutely absorbed in myself and my grief, a "burst" of empathy or sympathy or both exploded out of that room. It didn't inhabit me or possess me or anything--it was just a tangible (huge!) burst of sympathetic grief, coming from something or someone other than myself.

And then--this will sound like a cliche or whatever--there was never a "feeling" of anything being in that bathroom, ever, again. (I know--as the domestic slave of the house I'm the one mostly consigned to the basement washing/drying jobs lmao).

As time passed, I realized that I felt whatever it was had liberated itself. Maybe because for one, brief powerful moment it sympathized with its whole heart for someone else, it accidentally set itself free from whatever was keeping it trapped in that house.

The house is really old, and I bet if I had enough time I could try and figure out who might have been trapped there (unless it wasn't a family member--could have been an animal or visitor, I guess).

Anyway--that's just about my one and only such experience :)
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45835487

If you live up North, sometimes people were buried in the basement during the winter, to be reburied in the spring when the ground was thawed. Of course, occasionally a family wouldn't get around to it and the person in the bathroom would be left behind.

I had a friend make that discovery remodeling his house in Massachusetts, which was a very, very old house.

In my flying down the stairs thread which I cannot find, people discussed levitating in other situations. I have memories of managing to do this out in the back yard at my grandparents place.

Once some kind of entity (demon?) tried to possess my body. It literally choked me trying to force my mouth open to gain entry. I had to physically fight off this being that I could not see but could feel, smell and hear. Fortunately I was successful but always wary that it could happen again.

It was the scariest experience of my life! I had bruises around my throat for days afterward. There was a witness to this.

the flying dream used to be very common it seems like. I remember having it many times. A lot of you people are actually confusing the memories of a dream with reality.

the fact so many of us share this memory and yet no one now is claiming to have it is interesting.

Backing up in my car one day I ran over a kitten by mistake. It was flat like a pancake, tongue hanging out and DEAD. I was pretty sad cause I liked the kitten. I picked it up by the tail and took it to the back yard to bury. I tossed it on the ground and began to dig the hole. After the hole was finished I picked up the kitten by the tail, still very dead, and tossed it in the hole.
To my surprise the kitten jumped back out of the hole and ran off.
I named it “Lucky” and it lived happy another 5-6 years and died of natural causes.

All I can think is it was in shock? Maybe since it was a kitten the bones bent and did not break?
But it was flat, and not breathing at all for over 20 min?? Tongue was hanging from its mouth. Super weird experience.

Whatever happened I was glad. He turned out to be a great cat.
When I buried him the second time I cried.

Please refrain from religious experience, primarily because they all tend to a reminder of what has been reminded us for hundreds of years. Unless your religious experience was extremely unique.

Have you ever had to experience that you know was real and really did happen, yet you have no proof of and everyone wouldn't believe you if you told them and perhaps even starting to doubt yourself despite the fact that you know it's also real? Does it bother you going on in life knowing that you'll never be able to explain/prove it to anyone?

My son and I were sitting on the front porch on summer night. He was about 9. Up the street comes a neon blue colored blob bouncing up the street. It was 2d and passed right in front of us. About Volkswagen bug sized. I ran in the street and it disappeared up the street.

it took a couple seconds to process what had happened. I was looking on the floor for it before I realized there could be no "it" on the ground.

so I understand your experience

I wrote about this occurrence on GlP a few times , but here it is again.
About 9 years ago, I went to a local grocery store I occasionally shopped at, it has a set of automatic glass doors, and another set about 8 ft further in.
I get past the first set, look into the site as I walk towards the second doors, see people walking, pushing their carts etc inside, as soon as I walk through the second set of doors, time stops, nothing is moving, see someone picking an item of a shelf with hand frozen in mid air, all talking noise in gone, people that were pushing carts walking etc, completely frozen ( not moving). This lasts for about 10 seconds, and then just like pushing play on a DVD, everyone continues what the we’re doing before they were on pause.
Super trippy for me to witness that.

Had a "dream" one night that contained an entire lifetime. Met my soul mate, married, lived happily ever after for approx. 35 years until my love passed away, leaving me alone. I "woke up" sobbing for the loss.

And one time, playing cards, I went to throw a card down and it landed standing up on it's edge. Had three witnesses to this. We all looked at each other like "what the fuck?"

I dream of people I know, and sometimes even people they’re connected to but who I really don’t know—about a month before they die and how it happens. There’s this running joke where my sister will always ask me if I dreamt of her before she goes on vacation.

Friends, my mom, my sisters boyfriend, a friends boyfriend, my grandmother etc

Also dreamt of the Texas church shooting from several years ago, about a month before, but I was one of the people laying on the floor of the last pew. I reached out to hold this old woman’s hand, both of us frightened but she just said ‘we’re all ok now. We’ll be ok’ then she was shot. I wasn’t because someone came running through the door snd killed the shooter before he shot me.

Been others but that was one of the more disturbing dreams.

I have quite a few I could add . I will start with a place I used to live a few years back . I use to rent a place in the country and my landlord had a in ground pool he did not use and said I could . I stayed on top of a hill from here , like a small mountain in the Piedmont area of N.C. When I was off I would swim and lounge , he was at his lake place . On quite a few occasions I would be laying downs close my eyes and look at the sky and the clouds were like totally in a different spot . I mean close your eyes for like a few seconds and look at the clouds and they were in a totally different pattern . There is no way they could have moved that quick . This happened often here . Not many people lived around the area not sure what that was it was like the sky was glitching .
Let me see . My best childhood friend would often say he saw a green face in his bedroom window at night . This was in the Seventies . He ended up living in that same house years later
and renting it from his brother who then owned it . He was killed in that house in the early 2000 s.
I could add more but for now that will do .

Most of my dreams my entire life consists of another life, or lives. Grocery shopping, making dinner, being with my love and family. It ends the same way every time—I wake up mourning and sad and it sits with me for most of the day. Used to happen several days a week but now, thankfully, it’s a few times a month.

This is a very weird story. I was with my husband in the car driving close to a park we frequent often. I saw what I SWORE was a bear in a sedan passenger seat. I KNOW it was a brown bear and I shouted excitedly for him to follow the sedan... but he was too tired and wanted to just drive home. The next day there were reports of a bear in the park. No mention of the car that drove the bear to the park LOL. I tell people this story and nobody believes me. My husband is a little perplexed. I want to swat him for not following my orders to follow the bear in the car.

I know this is a stupid story but it is absolutely true. See you don't even believe me!!!!

Re: Have you ever experienced something so strange, that was real but no one will ever believe you ?
I've only told this story twice and because of one of those reactions from a life-long friend I decided its my best interest to never tell it again. Its really hard to describe and no, Im not larping.

A few years back I was going through a stressful time, mainly work related by family stuff too. That might not even be relevant. Over a period of days or weeks I started to have this really weird sensation. I kept feeling like the universe was tiny. Like it was a very small space and I was trapped in this tiny space. This strange existential sort of claustrophobia just started building and giving me a strange type of anxiety. It was strange because Im fairly well versed on how unimaginably large just observable universe is. I probably cant really appreciate the spacial distances between bodies in our solar system. The feeling just kept growing and mixed in with other daily stresses of work and family stuff. One day everything just felt too much and I was working at my home office desk and I decided to close my eyes and lower my head. Not something I normally or ever do.

I'm going to truncate a bit because there's some details that are impossible to describe with words and using 3d space. Keep in mind this all seemed to happen very quickly and almost all at once.If that makes any sense.

I sort of fell out of my body and felt like I went through a doorway and floated into a room that was almost like a large airplane hanger with half the lights off. (best way I can describe it) There was a large model of galaxy or galaxies that stood relatively 10-15 feet high. I'll never forget that red filament. The next part all was sensation that happened at the same time. I thought "Im back". It seemed like I knew everything. I felt I could be anywhere I wanted to be. I was not me (the strangest part). It was like I was on a completely different level of existence. I felt as free as thought. All of this is really hard to describe. And Im condensing a ton of thought.

The next second I felt myself go back through the doorway and get immediately shoved back into my body. In one moment I took on all my fear. I had not realized I had no fear when i was there and how content I was. It felt awful to come back. Then I opened my eyes. After that i was fine, no more claustrophobia. I felt like I had experienced something. after that I felt that this place is important yet not important. There's something more.

I probably didn't describe this experience very well. But thats what happened. Was it an insane dream, It sure did not feel that way. Despite searching I never found another similar experience with NDE or OBE. I wont tell this story to anyone but I will anonymously. all I can say is Im not lying to you. I dont get my kicks lying to people on the internet.

OBE:

I used to be afraid of the dark as a kid. Would bury myself in the blankets and look around the room in fear till I passed out. Did this most nights.

One night something weird happened.
I was almost about to fall asleep. Started having a feeling like i was big and everything else was small. I felt myself rising up (not physically) and just as I was at the ceiling I could look down at myself. I was out of my body. Then it all stopped and I was back in bed under the covers.

I tried to have that feeling and do it again but never could. Im a old man now. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was not asleep or dreaming. It was real. OBE is very real.

I don't usually post, but I did have an incredible experience when I was 14. I was on a field trip and we were at a park with some pretty tall cliffs....and I tripped at the edge and was falling off and all of a sudden, defying gravity....I suddenly fell up and was back at the top....there were two other class mates that witnessed this and we were all just shocked....I'll bet they might remember that too...it was very weird...I'm 69 now and I never forgot it....
