I don't trust most people for being conservative or rightwing enough. Sleaze and slime tends to start pouring out of people the more liberal and less conservative they are.

I can't think of too many people who can be described as corrupt, venal, decadent and unethical because they're too conservative, too rightwing. OTOH, I can think of a whole lot of people who can be described in those terms because they're too liberal, too leftwing.

Trump can be and should be criticized for not being conservative enough or principled enough in his rightism. Few people are right-leaning enough.

In the case of Trump's critics, it's good most of them haven't found themselves through the years feeling pangs of warmth or kindness towards a variety of slimeball liberals and scumbag leftists.
