Well, they can be used in multiple ways.
1. Divination, alike to Tarot.
2. Psychological insight, meditative; 'pathworking'.
3. As a focus/alignment for intent in magickal works, either by themselves or with others. ie, a central sigil or rune within a circle or pentacle, with additional runes placed around/layered, perhaps in/between the sections of the star itself.
4. Bindrunes, where multiple runes are 'chained' together, this is sort of like a sigil.

Regarding sigils, one thing I've only hinted at is my own custom system of creating them that uses a particular arrangement of runes.

So, we mostly focused around 1 and 2 in my posts of them. Each post from my perspective was a form of pathworking and anyone following along was sort of participating in the same thing when pondering, or even meditating on, if anyone did that.

I suppose starting there; draw the rune and chant internally (or externally) the associated sound, Thorrsen(sp?) has these in his book.

Fehu:
Fe Fe Fe Fe Fe
Fi Fi Fi Fi Fi

(fe fi fo fum)
etc.

Whilst getting in to a trance or meditative state, stare at the rune and get it embedded in your minds eye so you can close your eyes and hold the image, then begin to ponder the attributes as per our discussion.

Edit: I believe I mentioned "getting to know" the runes, this is one method. As well as seeing the energies of each in the waking world.
You could try doing some of this in the dreamscape after becoming "familiar" with.

Well, "use of them"; I've not used any for a long while, instead what little practicing I've done has been with bindrunes. The most recent being protective, which was a representation of the self with defensive/protective runes in various directions/configurations.

I suppose we're nearing the time where I talk about/post images of the system I built for creating sigils. Early in my ventures I used essentially the AO Spare system of building a shape from letters and paired with a mantra, both created in his manner. That being the statement of intent, remove doubles, etc.

But yeah I took that further and had an epiphany/breakthrough when pondering Solomon's works as well as runes and fused the three systems.
All that said, I still do very, very little and what I have done recently didn't utilize this.

Everything put together, my rune work, the fusion to create the system, work on potentiality->actuality (forming something from void), energy/attributes of deities and correspondences, as well as emotional states and concepts on consciousness has become quite the neat little bundle, which I'm happy for as in retrospect it is essentially a life's work sort of thing. The book would be a decent volume on practical work.

Would you be interested in publishing said book?
