The Pan-European Revolutions of 1848 should have brought about Communism.

Though Marx and Engels wrote The Communist Manifesto in 1848, the year of Revolution, Communist Philosophy was known and rehearsed as early as the 1500s. John Wyckiffe, Anabaptists, French Philosophers, Diggers, The Levellers, Roundheads all preached property held in common.
