Counting Ambulances - Anyone Keeping Tally
In Bangkok I counted 8 today. Normally 0-1 per day.

Anyone else notice an uptick since the jab?

Hmmm...will keep track. BUt yes, lately between 4-5am there was an uptick. I'm used to the sound having lived on an island where there is only one highway. Being in the middle of that highway, I noticed it back in 2019. My property mate lives there, he'll keep note of increases. I shall set him to task.

Might want to correct the Title to ambulances though!

Yes. I live on a road that is the only way to a back section of housing. Maybe 300 houses back there.

It used to be rare to see an EMT vehicle drive by. Each response seems to include the fire truck, the EMT truck and a cop car or 2.

I found that there is an online web page that lists all of the emergency calls for the county and it lists the problem and street name and town.

Around 90% of the calls have been for breathing problems.
And seeing the emergency vehicles go by once or twice a day now.

Not sure why they bring that humungous fire truck every time someone has a breathing problem. Maybe just giving the truck some reliability run time?

Many thanks, I swear I have dyslexia.

If I have time I might work on a machine learning project to identify ambulance sounds and automatically keep count. Not going to be an easy project, but will be fun to learn.

Just search online. The emergency calls might be logged on a webpage like I discovered .

Many thanks, I think this is something we can all measure around the globe and definitely keep a close eye on this. Especially the places with high VAX rates.

Here it's the closest EMT...so for (my island house) it is the volunteer fire department. Then normally the RCMP show up followed by the ambulance.

Yes, the fire truck does tend to beat the ambulance by about a minute on average. Not sure why. They are in the same building.
That truck is fast though. I tried to catch up to it once because it had a super long hose that was falling out the back. It laid down about a half mile of hose that our town paid for and I didn't want it to get run over. Finally caught up to it at a red light.
I have a 290 HP car and could not catch that rocket truck! (well, I was trying not to speed too badly).

Here (well, the island place, I'm urban at present) the ambulances roam (there are only 2 on the whole coast) and don't go back to their home bases unless needed on any given shift. The volunteer firepeople never really leave their building unless they get a call.

I was talking to my sons Godfather, whose daughter was an ambulance attendant on the island I lived on. The ambulance crew makes .....$2.50 an hour UNLESS they are driving to a scene, dealing with a scene, then dropping the person off at the hospital. The second the doors close at the ER...they are back down to $2.50...imagine that! They make less then trolls and shills here. If she was still working I'd suggest her and her co-worker find GLP trolling positions to add to their $2.50!

It sounds like more than 25 today, I'm hearing them continuously, even at night and we are in lockdown from 10PM. It appears to be getting worse day by day, I've never heard so many Ambulances in all my life.

I was reading these threads earlier but didn’t notice anything.

However the last few days have been insane - like perpetual ambulances going by w sirens on. Today was off the charts.
