1.7 million homeowners are currently 90+ days past due. Foreclosure moratorium ends July 31st. This floods the market with foreclosure sales or home owners selling to get out of the loan. Almost all sellers will have equity due to the run up in the housing market so they will all stampede to the doors to sell first so they can cash out. The inventory increases, the prices will go down as these homeowners that need to sell now get desperate to unload their homes and avoid foreclosure. The bright side for them is that they will probably walk away with cash in their pocket as a reward for not paying their mortgage payments during the moratorium.

For the same reason they keep on extending the rent moratorium and jacking the landlords I am sure they will allow the foreclosure moratorium to expire.

Concur. I heard about it before I had time to even think, but unfortunately it resonated as something that could be a back door approach.

Edit: I personally believe this would infringe on the 2nd Amendment but it seems like some states are allowing landlords to do it so I don’t know. Just putting it out there to be aware of.

The last time the houses were allowed to lower in value nationwide was in 1991.

2008, places like New York and California saw no reduction in home prices though the rest of the nation had a 50% reduction.

This time nothing will go down in price even if those 2 million homes go on the market. 2 million is not much of a big number anyway percentage wise. Then there are those hedge funds that will buy them if that happened.
