The answer is always the same, no way. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35379103 I think to myself man that’s a real shame. So many doors open up just by simply learning to code for the web. You don’t even have to be any good at it. An hour here and an hour there self teaching and you develop a skill that raises your confidence, makes your worth go way up and gives you a new perspective on everything. It’s refreshing to have a new perspective when you don’t even realize that you’re in a rut. Coding is boring as fuck, thats why I stopped. |

I hated every minute of cubicle life. I did it for the money to raise my kids. After that, there was no use setting there making junk mail, or helping credit collectors, or trying to make sense of a health insurance company. That's the type of crap I did. The people I worked with were always a loathsome bunch. Gossiping ninnies, anti-depressant addicts, and overgrown man-children. They always wanted you to spend a good chunk of your workday helping them through their life decisions. Coding itself sucked because all you did was code their business and technical decisions into existence. When their decisions were wrong, they claimed you coded it wrong. The pay was ok, but stagnant. 1-2% yearly increases were the norm. Don't code. Be better than that. Coding sucks. Last Edited by Shadow_Rider_06 on 07/03/2021 10:06 AM |

It’s refreshing to have a new perspective when you don’t even realize that you’re in a rut. Been trying learning html, css, javascript and python for almost 2 years now. Key thing is that you can’t expect to memorize everything. Just get the concept of programming and be a good trouble shooter. Everything else around memorizing things like I want to join these two strings what’s that method call again? Google it and it will pop up right away. Don’t expect to memorize entire languages. Roger that. What happens if the web goes down, we're all screwed. |

Work's drudgery, it's not supposed to be fun or entertaining. I bet 95% of people hate their jobs. If you want to be challenged open your own business doing whatever it is you're good at and can find clients. |
