As a journalist of newspapers and magazines, author of non-fiction books and presenter of his television program Peter R. de Vries: Crime Reporter, De Vries has numerous scoops to his name, and has covered a long list of high profile cases-many of which have also drawn attention abroad. Two men were wrongly convicted in a murder case. De Vries fought eight years for their freedom and justice and made more than 40 broadcasts about the case until he succeeded in 2002. The Dutch Supreme Court acquitted the two innocent men of the murder after a review of the case. The real perpetrator has been convicted.

In 2003, De Vries revealed that royal princess Mabel Wisse Smit had had closer ties to deceased Dutch drug lord and mobster Klaas Bruinsma than she had previously admitted. Wisse Smit's husband, Prince Friso was second in line to the Dutch throne at the time of the revelations regarding his wife's past, but was forced to renounce his claim to the throne in the wake of the affair.

Within 30 minutes, both Parole newspaper and shock blog Geen Stijl said the victim was 64-year-old De Vries, who named him in the early 1980s when he wrote about the underground world of Amsterdam and the kidnapping of Freddy Heineken.

De Vries dropped out with the criminal boss Willem Holleeder after cooperating in the film adaptation of the kidnapping.

A few minutes after the journalist left RTL’s studio and appeared on the television gossip show RTL Boulevard, the shooting took place.

Het Parool said De Fries was seriously injured in the shooting and was taken to the hospital. GeenStijl reported that he was shot in the head.

Police described the suspect’s shooter as a light-skinned, light-skinned man in a dark green jacket and black hat.

There's other videos out from different locations, some have cops with scoped rifles.. Police have not confirmed the arrest yet... They seem to be arresting any1 fitting part of the description :p

the response was pretty big, which never happens when the mocros have wild west shoot outs in amsterdam. which do happen...occasionally

I doubt they needed a distraction for the A-listing of covid, right, I don't think they need that. Maybe criticizing journalists becomes terror? Meh, for now, I'll stick with the official story, we'll see further down the road.

De Vries has been a big part in the imprisonment of a lot of criminals. Given the 'revenge is a dish best served cold' attitude of Dutch organized crime we can't guess who was behind this yet.
