I don't get this piece of it. Why wasn't anybody "gender confused" when I was in school?

I don't know anyone in my graduating class who has transitioned. We had gays, lesbians, queers, asexuals, crossdressers, but no trans. There was even a guy who was on the cheerleading team and wore a dress to prom - he still never thought he was a woman.

I have no issues with those who are born gay, but when they put people through a living hell for years and years, never comfortable with themselves, then many support them in their transition, only to have them want to transition back and for what?
