There is good an bad in every organization. Secret or hidden ones get a bad rap because they’re hidden. The reasons masons are secretive is because they were considered enemies of the church, which also served a dual purpose as the government hundreds of years ago. With no separation of church and state, it was basically like saying your religious leaders are acting as gods and people have to answer to them. The masons perspective was that they were freemen, they worship god and answer to god, not man. Out of all the old retired masons I’ve asked and I’ve asked many, when I ask what the “G” stands for, they tell me “God.” Even the 33rds say “God.” They say it is a pre-requisite to joining, that you must acknowledge there is a god or divine order to this world and it’s not just an atheistic chaotic hellscape accident. They tell me it doesn’t matter what brand of god you worship, as long as you have one. When studying deeper texts and teachings, you will learn that the G stands for other things but most will say “God” and leave it at that.

Children are NOT taken care of nor looked after or elevated.

There is a joke amongst free masons when one dies: at the funeral they all say better you than me. Any "promise" to care for the wife or children goes out the window upon death. For those who speak of profanity and have the gall to call us profane, such speaks volumes.

As for elevating, William Cooper said he was selected to the intelligence in the military because he was a Demolay child in his youth.

Thank you for your responses. I didn’t know the depth of the oath. Yeesh! For lack of a better expression.
I’ve heard both sides of the Masons. Both the good and the not so good. I guess my main concern is how much are they or are they not controlling my husband’s life and subsequently now my own? Are we free of their influence so long as he continues to not want anything to do with them?

Re: Question for the Freemasons on this forum. Or just those who might be able to answer my questions?
The person who posted the several quotes is accurate. Back when I looked into it, I encountered all those quotes.

Lower degree Masons have no idea what is revealed by degree 33. They want to socialize and help charities. When you reach the 33rd degree you learn that it is really Lucifer that is good and that the Christian God is bad. That is a lie, but nevertheless, that is what they learn. I couldn’t tell you how many really believe that.

The esoteric nature of it and all the secrecy is so anti-Christian. God wants everyone to know about the Gospel of Christ. He did not intend that only a select few could gain the special knowledge of what is really going on. All of the occult is undergirded by special secrets known to a few.

I looked into it because I have 2 relatives that are involved with the Masons and another 3 who are part of a related group. I have an acquaintance who calls it going to church. A holy book must be present, and it can be the Bible or the Koran or some other book. This is meant to show that they believe there is a higher power.

I would have to think that there are some groups that aren’t into the Lucifer thing so much and others that buy it hook, line and sinker.

Regarding generational curses...I don’t believe they exist as such because when I think of curses it brings to mind something that you’re stuck with the rest of your life. I do, however, believe there can be influences or footholds in members (and also in Masons’ family members depending on the situation). There are Bible verses that help with this sort of thing.

They want mucho bucks from their members for their charities. Children's Hospitals, Burn Centers. Good, worthwhile stuff. But their stuff.

They have to memorize a lot of material. I think it is mostly Bible passages and interpretations. Their interpretations.

My former business partner was a Mason. He said it was all good. I think he said it was based on the Bible.

My son-in-law's father was a Mason. My son-in-law said basically they channel demons, or at least one.

Re: Question for the Freemasons on this forum. Or just those who might be able to answer my questions?
My new husband’s late father was a 32nd degree Free Mason.

It’s spelled Freemason, lol.

My husband doesn’t know much about the activities his father was involved in..just that he recalls a lot of secrecy surrounding his father. Private things he didn’t divulge to him or his mother. A special chest he was not allowed to touch that contained private things. And as he grew into a teenager, he knew his father was not always honest with his mom as to his where-abouts. There were suspicions Of extra-marital affairs and one time, his parents separated for over a year over a fight they had. He would still see his dad on the weekends, but his parents were separated during that time.
Fast Forward..my husband blamed his parents troubles on the Free Masons. And wants nothing to do with them.

Okay. Sound like a lot of men. Nothing to do with being a Freemason..

They even tried very hard to recruit him when he filled out a questionnaire for joining a MC club. One of the questions was about his heritage in Free Masonry. When they found out his father was a 32nd. Degree, they really pressured him to join. So much so that he decided he didn’t want to join that club after all.

Freemasonry isn’t an MC and doesn’t solicit membership. 2B1 Ask1.

I guess my question is this. Is my husband possibly even myself being watched? Looked after in a sense?

No and no.

Promotions have always come easy to him. He’s a smart man in his field. 30 years as a fire fighter. He’s retired now but teaching fire safety classes in his retirement. Do the Masons look after the children of their deceased high degree members?

Generally, no, unless a widow makes a request to the deceased member’s Lodge for assistance. Any assistance would come voluntarily from individual members and not the Lodge.

Is there anything I need to know as his wife?

Yeah, clear your calendar for Masonic functions and don’t pester him about Freemasonry questions that he won’t answer anyway.

Even his mother, who is still alive, receives phone calls and mail checking in on her? She too wants nothing to do with them and blames her marital problems on them.

So Lodge brothers looking in on a brother’s widow is a bad thing? Sounds like those brothers should spend their time reaching out to someone that appreciates the contact.

How far of an outreach is the arm of the Masons for deceased higher degree members? Is there anything I ought to know?

Looks like you’re looking for some sort of potential financial benefit because of your husband’s membership status (assuming he becomes a member). Guess what - there is none. Freemasonry is about giving and not expecting anything in return.

Thank you for any and all info. And feel free to pm me if you’re a member of course.

32 degree Scottish Rite / Knights Templar since 1990.

Thank you for your response. Yes. I know I misspelled Freemason. Another poster already pointed this out to me and I have since corrected the title of this thread.
I don’t know why he was asked about his heritage. But he was. The MC club was for fire fighters.
To be clear..I’m not looking for assistance, financial or otherwise. I’m looking for us to be left alone..just as my husband wants it. I’m not saying we haven’t been, just making sure that isn’t going to change for him or for us.
No calendar to clear. He has absolutely no interest to join the Masons. Regardless of his heritage.

I have a question for you. If the Freemasons are all about giving, how do you reconcile their philanthropic side with the evil that others on this thread and countless other threads on GLP equate them with? Particularly the generational curse mentioned in this thread?

Just curious. And I appreciate your talking with me about this.
 Quoting: Aware & Watching

Most Freemasons are not active in Lodge affairs and a have little interest in becoming involved unless they have the time or money to contribute to lodge events; i.e. they’re self employed or independently wealthy. Probably 20% of dues paying brothers actually attend lodge and are considered “active”. Most people join for fellowship or to develop social or business connections and drift away after receiving their 3rd degree.

If a Freemason confronts your husband about joining, all he has to say is “I thought Freemasons don’t solicit membership?” and politely decline to discuss it further. If the Freemason persists, have your husband ask to what Lodge does the Freemason belong and who is the current Worshipful Master because I’d like to have a talk with him. I would expect any harassment would stop immediately.

Which brings up another misconception about Freemasonry. There are no “high degree” Masons. The 3rd degree is recognized as the highest degree in Freemasonry. This is achieved by being initiated in the three degrees leading to becoming “raised a Master Mason” by your Lodge. All the other degrees in Scottish Rite or York Rite, i.e., 32 degree are not “higher” they are part of the ritual of the aforementioned related Masonic bodies which can be attained in a weekend of ritual initiations. The 33rd degree is honorary and doesn’t confer any power or authority. It’s for Freemasons who are established leaders and influencers in society, i.e., celebrities, politicians, large business owners; or long time Freemasons who are recognized for a lifetime of contribution to Freemasonry (time, money, charitable giving).

As Freemasonry does not solicit membership, a person desiring to become a Freemason would need to ask an active member in good standing for a petition of membership. The petition would be read before the Lodge at the next stated monthly meeting and an investigating committee is established to interview the candidate, perform background checks, etc. This is a lot of work for the Lodge, so they don’t want to waste their time on people that aren’t serious or willing to contribute to the organization.

Most Masonic Lodges barely have the time and resources to manage their own lodge business and to look in on their own active members who are sick, in the hospital, in need, etc. so I can guarantee they are not watching, following or have any interest in staying in contact with the descendants of former members.

Some critics try to link Freemasonry to Satanic practices, New World Order, etc. but I’ve seen no evidence of this in the meetings or degree work of any Freemasonic Lodge I’ve been a member. Any mention of Lucifer, etc, is not in any ritual I’ve seen (and other than the 33 degree ritual, I’ve seen and experienced them all) and if discussed by writers is allegorical and philosophical in nature.

However, there are other ‘Masonic’ groups all over the world that may use a similar format or modified Freemasonic ritual. Since they are clandestine and occult in nature, I am unaware of their motives, agenda or ritual. The Illuminati would be an example of such a lodge not associated with regular Freemasonry. I believe these ‘evil’ lodges conflate their existence with Freemasonry to provide cover to their activities.

He's not a "high degree" Mason. He is an ordinary 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Brother like thousands of others. Sorry.

P.S., 3rd Degree is the highest. Anything above that is from an appendant body which is outside of the Blue Lodge. The uninitiated are eager to believe all the fantastical illuminati delusionary hype, but the reality is your Father-in-Law was just a good man trying to be better and not the figment of either your imagination or speculation. Critique as you wish - it matters not.

The recognition of being a DeMolay I believe was a factor in allowing me to qualify for a interest free loan to help with college tuition costs and it helped me obtain an internship with one of the largest tech companies in the world at that time.

Today, mentioning that I’m a Chevalier and $2 will buy me a cup of coffee.

I knew Jason Maurer the 45yo gay Ohio bartender who posted on social media for people to “shut up and get your vaccine.” He died 5 weeks after getting second Moderna. I have a nurse friend (72) who had a younger brother who was in poor health, late stage kidney disease. He got one of the vaccines and died the very next day.

I agree with the first reply on here. As a female born into a high-ranking men mason family on both sides, they do seem to stalk their members and family members of members, female and male, child and adult, in order to get them to join the various clubs for girls and young women and men to basically keep you connected. It’s for financial reasons mainly and nothing creepy or esoteric/occult/special about you, because in order to get to 32 and then 33, you have to contribute a lot of money to them. So they are basically ensuring their own continuity as an organization by contacting you and sending cards and calling. Not unlike an auto dealership does after you buy from them. They keep your info and really lay it on thick after your loan is paid off. It’s the same thing. I also spent time working at a lodge and asking questions of the male members and I figured out the way the masons work is they seek out men who are already rich powerful and successful and get those ones to join. It’s not like you join and then you become those things through them. They do do a lot of charitable things and contribute most of the money to children’s funds and burn victims. They also have Masonic nursing homes all over the country where they pay for the care of the aging masons & their spouses up until they die which can get rather expensive, upwards of $20k a month sometimes.

Ok good to know. So you mentioned “older retired” Masons you’ve spoken with. Do you think the organization has changed with the generations? Become infiltrated for more nefarious purposes? Not eternal, just ever present until the time of times and age of ages. Which is coming soon. It's like why we listen to Madonna and allow her to don the name without mobs of people trying to tear her limb from limb. People don't care anymore. Corruption has defeated this world, the people of this world that is, largely and in part at least. People have not been humbled in quite a while and so comes an absence of spiritual need. Which leaves a vacuum. To be filled by primal impulse. Which is the essence of Hell.

Thank you for this info. It sounds like the Freemasons are an organization that can be easily hijacked by others who would use them for personal gain, I.e. business advantages or just as a cover for groups with more nefarious agendas. That’s good to know. If he does get approached to join..I will be sure to pass along your advice.
Thank you again.

Re: Question for the Freemasons on this forum. Or just those who might be able to answer my questions?
My new husband’s late father was a 32nd degree Free Mason.
They even tried very hard to recruit him when he filled out a questionnaire for joining a MC club. One of the questions was about his heritage in Free Masonry. When they found out his father was a 32nd. Degree, they really pressured him to join. So much so that he decided he didn’t want to join that club after all.

I’m not eager to believe or rather looking to believe anything but the truth. I’m also not here to critique. Just to learn. I appreciate

Re: Question for the Freemasons on this forum. Or just those who might be able to answer my questions?
Children are NOT taken care of nor looked after or elevated.

There is a joke amongst free masons when one dies: at the funeral they all say better you than me. Any "promise" to care for the wife or children goes out the window upon death. For those who speak of profanity and have the gall to call us profane, such speaks volumes.

As for elevating, William Cooper said he was selected to the intelligence in the military because he was a Demolay child in his youth.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20371885

I am a majority member of the Order of Demolay ( boys 13 to 21 ) and was bestowed Demolay’s highest recognition for a outstanding achievement and service to the organization whilst a member - The Order of Chevalier.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80444067

Thank you. I haven’t heard of the Order of Demolay, nor have I heard of The Order of Chevalier. I have, however, heard of Job’s Daughters. My daughter, as a pre-teen had a friend who was a member and told my daughter all about it. My daughter came home from school one day all excited and hopeful and wanted to know if any of our family was a Freemason, because she really wanted to join Job’s Daughters.
That was the first time I’d every heard about them. I was instantly suspicious of a secret organization that would only allow members based on one’s bloodline. That was many many years ago. What I’ve learned since, has been from GLP and my current husband.

DO NOT FEAR THE FREEMASONS!

TRUST ONLY IN "THE ONE TRUE MOST HIGH FATHER CREATOR ORIGINAL SOURCE CREATOR GOD" AND HE WILL GIVE YOU KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM BEYOND THE HIGHEST FREEMASONS.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80331438

I wouldn’t say I fear them. This is more of an attempt to understand what they’re really about and if I need to be aware of anything. Many on here have helped me to understand this secret organization better and I no longer feel as concerned about my husband’s heritage through his father.

I can make a religion saying I'm Jesus Christ. Words and titles of olde mean nothing today. For a time. The only thing eternal is.. bad and very weird people. I wouldn't get too excited.
