Minimum wage workers can't afford rent anywhere in America
Housing has become so expensive in the United States that the typical minimum wage worker cannot afford rent, according to a new report.
There is no state, county or city in the country where a full-time, minimum-wage worker working 40 hours a week can afford a two-bedroom rental, a report from the National Low Income Housing Coalition showed.
A full-time minimum-wage worker can afford a one-bedroom rental in only 7% of all US counties — 218 counties out of more than 3,000 nationwide.

The federal minimum wage is $7.25.

Well in the real world you have to eliminate bills in the order of priority to make ends meet.

Rent comes first.

Eating out
New clothes
Vacations
Jewelry
Tattoos. ......

All come last.

Luckily, there are less than 1,00,000 of America's 150,000,000 person work force who report on their income tax that they are heads of households.

and those people have access to government programs to make sure their families have homes.

Minimum wage workers can't afford to pay the property taxes on the unit they are renting in most of the country.

Most of the property tax goes to pay for the indoctrination centers(public schools) that they insist all people attend that educates them so poorly that all they are capable of getting is a minimum wage job.

The government wants to raise the property tax to have money to spend on creating affordable housing.

Get the picture?

MINIMUM WAGE IS NOT THE PROBLEM.

Only uneducated retards think this is a solution, but if it were a solution, this would not have to be repeated.

In 1956, minimum wage was $1, paid with silver-backed money.

Four quarters = $1

The MELT value of a SILVER quarter as of this post is $4.78
[link to www.ngccoin.com (secure)]

$4.78 times 4 is $19.12.

There is your minimum wage.

THE FIAT SYSTEM IS BROKEN.

You do make sense to a point, AC. I will dispel most of your post with some additional facts though. When I was looking for apartments in town I found out all of them have a minimum of earning twice amount of rent. Just being able to afford the rent is irrelevant when you can not even afford the utilities themselves. You are better off permanently homeless in such a case.

Now for the Minimum Wage debacle. $7.25 at full time a week is almost $1200. The cheapest apartment in all of my town is or was $600 a month several years ago. Normally they have the "earning twice amount of rent" thing. This means at Minimum Wage, AC, you literally can not afford the cheapest and crappiest of all apartments in my town. The usual monthly rent rates from what I found out for the 2X Earned Money apartments was a minimum a thousand dollars. That means you must be earning two grand a month to even be considered getting an apartment anywhere in such an apartment complex. The Solarium apartment complex their cheapest apartment was I think $1800 a month. Which means you would have to be earning $3600 a month to even be considered there at all.

So everything the OP of this thread has said in their OP, AC, is accurate. America is fucked in every way possible. At this rate hundreds of millions of Americans actually have to fricken die in real life just to make things bearable for whoever is left in America.

No, America was ruined by two generations of sociopathic, psychopathic, narcissists(Baby Losers and Gen X). Even with all those things removed, people can't afford rent.

Baby Losers have been bitching for decades that the cost of living in America is "too low", so worked tirelessly to both increase the cost of living, and decrease wages.

It is a narcissism problem. Eliminate the narcissists, and the problems go away.

You double up and live in a room in someones home or a cheap hotel. I stayed in such a place yesterday somewhere in Missorri, just a decreped old Motel with dirty rooms, but the little room had a comfy double bed, stove, fridge, separate sink and microwave, working AC., bathroom with a tub. Lots of junkie locals and journymen were living there. You rent it, ask permission to paint and clean it up yourself, and you're all set. Owning a home or renting a huge apartment is overrated. I still miss my 300 sq ft split studio in NYC.
