Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80626057 Proof of Work is obsolete. Look at all the E-waste it creates. It also is a huge waste of energy. They were using PoW to solve the double spend problem verifying transactions with all this computing power. But you dont have to do that anymore now that Consensus Ledgers are invented. As long as there is equipment to be used (GPUs and CPUs) mining will always be present. There are close to 20 million miners all around the world. A coin shifting from PoW to PoS is meaningless because the miners will simply shift their rigs and operation to the next coin that offers PoW and that coin will explode in price because demand just increased.
