So you traded your original mind to a mass brain washed one? Congrats.

If I may ask, which Christian denomination did you convert to?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80530503

Not really any I guess. Family say I’m in the Calvery category, which I guess is Evangelical.

I’m still not convinced you’re the original “Original Mind”. I continue to hold the opinion you’re an imposter posing as The Original Mind, because the ~OM~ I know would be able to recognize any such “transformative power” as purely a desperate and emotional response to a desperate and emotionally-charged situation.

Be that as it may, I bid you adieu. I shall respectfully bow out of your thread.

I wish you well and will continue to hold fond memories of the ~OM~ that once was but is no more.

Be well.

.
 Quoting: Zovalex

So you would rather believe this isn’t the real om and is some imposter and the timeline has been changed rather than GOD? chuckle

And we are the crazy ones?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80638067

I get the surprise. For so many years I was Taoist and atheistic on this site. I discussed politics, economics, history, and enlightenment. And now I’ve converted and started a new account (I deleted my old one). It’sa big change. Time will show I’m the real OM.
 Quoting: The_Original_Mind

I know you are. I’m happy you found truth and Shalom, OM :)
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80639126

Life is better, at least in some regards :)

Personal revelation. My entire life crashed down around me. I realized how much of a failure I have been and how powerless I am to fix my life. I realized that all the promises of the earthly systems I have followed were lies and empty. I reached out and was answered in a powerful way, and continue to be answered every day.

Good choice, despite what the world says Christianity is the most cerebral religion on the planet. And it's not a religion either, it's faith.

Once you pursue a study of the Bible, deep dive, it will fulfill your every curiosity.

From the many other faiths and religions I have studied, I agree with this. None begin to match Christianity’s correspondence with reality.

Personal revelations like that are the most powerful, congratulations.

The sticky aftereffects happen when we try to convince others that our personal revelations are more correct than other's personal revelations.

Be prepared to be persecuted and ostracized by friends and family. It happened to me when I converted from Byzantine Catholic to Orthodox several years ago. I was mocked, shunned, and lost a lot of friends.

I’m very sorry to hear that. I’m surrounded by people who are already Christian and God has graced me with stronger relationships than ever before. I’ve also been given the opportunity to move some people closer to the Lord through this.

There is a lot of this happening at the moment. The Lord promised us He would pour out His Spirit in the latter days, what is called the latter rain.

On another forum I frequent others who either were avowed atheists or weren't looking for any sort of spirituality are having the same experiences.

Welcome to the family OM and God bless!

There seems to be a real awakening, at least around here. Me, two other people at work. A third who is on the fence but moving in the right direction. My family is increasing in faith as I continue down the path. My church is growing. It’s impressive to behold! God is great!

Re: I became a Christian
The REAL person behind “The Original Mind” is one of the most advanced Minds I’ve met on this forum. He has a genius (or near genius) IQ, has thoroughly studied different belief systems, is well educated, well traveled, speaks different languages, and is more enlightened than 99% of people on this planet. He is someone I have come to have great respect for.

There is NO WAY he would convert to christianity.

NO.

WAY.

....this OP is a fraud.

Anyone who is sincerely seeking God will find Christ, no matter what their prior belief system was or wasn't.
Soteria...

The Bible's use of Soteria indicates its etymology from Greek mythology, as the word is used to mean "fourfold salvation: saved from the penalty, power, presence and most importantly the pleasure of sin."

Even putting aside what’s happening in the world right now, this is a very difficult time in my personal life. Finding God may have saved my life (literally), but it is an additional strain to be shedding the old self during my current tribulations. It’s a whole life transformation at the moment. I’m largely ignoring the world at present.

taking the remaining functional part of your brain out and playing frisbee with it?

Well pretty much right!

To paraphrase Jesus, “My way is easy, my burden is light.”

So yes, playing frisbee with your remaining brain is closer to the right idea than you may have thought!
