Why are you worried about this? It's only 60 days. What's the big deal? Alaska has earthquakes. Didn't you ask them why they chose your property?

I don't think you have much to worry about. Its very likely that your property gives them a strategic advantage for reading acoustic waves like a poster above stated. You may have noticed yourself that quakes around Alaska have been intensifying as well as getting deeper. The 60 days will give the USGS the info they need to determine which direction the quakes are going in to get an overall idea of plate movement as well as changing volcanism.

Temporary nodes are actually quite common. Also, nodes on private property do not reveal personal information. The only info available is the coordinates of the node and its seismic recordings. Unless you reveal personal information connected to those coordinates, your location should remain anonymous.

Tell them no.
They cannot force you to let them install it.

Or tell them yes, they will give you some inside information at least once a year.

Choice is yours.
