Regarding people waiting for instructions rather than rescue themselves - this is what happens when the leaders of the country force the citizens to not think for themselves but to obey like blind sheep. They get stuck and die.

Happened in Jonestown, with Jim Jones, the people complied and they died.

Happened in Hurricane Katrina, the people in the lower ward were so dependent on the government to help them with welfare, etc, that they got stuck and couldn't help themselves out of the flood. they died. some were disabled, but i beleive a lot of them - if they were not trained to obey and receive, they would have had the urge to get out and run and maybe they would have lived.

Dependency on the government will always bring trouble. you get stuck and then you cant be self-reliant. the USA is going to get into trouble because they want citizens to rely on them. but they will end up like a frog boiling slowly in a pot.
