A north suburban woman who was found dead in a parked car near the intersection of Clark and Fullerton on Thursday evening died from accidental inhalation of automobile exhaust, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

First responders found Payton Mickey, 25, in the driver’s seat of a Lexus on the 400 block of West Fullerton after a passerby noticed she was unresponsive and had been there for hours, according to dispatch records. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:27 p.m.

Police remained in the area until after midnight as detectives investigated Mickey’s death. Officers found no unusual circumstances at the scene, according to a CPD report.

CBS2 reported that a dog was also found dead inside the car.
