I’m an avid beach volleyball player, playing 5 nights a week all summer, and I have to admit I sincerely appreciate the lack of clothing on women beach volleyball players in general. They love showing off their bodies

Every local girl over 13 wears a Brazilian bikini, only tourists wear full bottoms.

I feel like we are getting closer to something like what was portrayed in the movie "Idiocracy" --

To add insult to injury, the Norwegian team were fined for wearing bottoms that covered them up more. The women's team felt uncomfortable (and who wouldn't?) wearing such tiny bottoms while gyrating around and jumping to get to the volleys. America once again is so embarrassing on the world scene to not join in and say hey we feel it's inappropriate to expect or want this for a uniform for the Olympics.

On a side note, I feel sorry for Japan for forking out the dough for that beach volleyball court stadium and all these other venues that won't make a dime back in revenues.
Why would any country want to host the damn things going forward?

The Canadian team has the skimpiest bikinis thus far, their bottoms were wedged in their buttcracks, practically thongs. Even moreso than the USA.

don't a lot of these Olympic venues just get torn down after the games ? I think sometimes they start as soon as the games are over, or even before

It's not just volleyball. In a lot of sports the difference in dress code is startling. Sprinting: women have to wear bikini bottoms, men wear regular shorts. Pole vaulting, long distance running, gymnastics. Etc.
It's so obvious to see the sexism at work.
The Danish volleyball team got fined, fined!, for not wearing the ridiculous outfits. All because they wanted to wear shorts and not underwear.

Yes, I've heard that also and it is a waste. Just go with the venues that exists once built and recycle the cities to host that have them and don't build any more of this.
