It's not an exclusively canadian issue, these masks turned up in multiple countries but canada was the only one to continue using them and ordering them after it was discovered. Even when the government said provinces should temporaily stop handing them out, Ontario and Quebec I believe it was continued to use them anyway. It's pretty clear what the plan is with these masks, here's the next "wave" of lung diseases "caused" by tobacco or whatever the hell it is the rich and politicians decide to try and take away from people in the future. I also have no doubt all these future lung diseases cases will be blamed on covid.
