Blanket statements of fact from someone not qualified to make them lend little to the discussion. If Astro knew what he was talking about, he could explain it mathematically - he can't. Most just take him with a grain of salt and ignore his self-inflated blathering.

That could make it WORSE.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80659637

Not going to happen. The maximum delta V it could impart would be utterly incapable of diverting it to earth. It won't even break orbit from Didymos.

Has anyone actually seen this asteroid, or is it just an excuse to detonate massive explosives just above earth, which might happen to cause emp outages, catastrophic weather etc? This project sounds a lot like Gates wanting to black out the sky for the purpose of cooling the earth, just trying to be helpful to humanity.

Can you see debris field from Apophis?

All professional astronomers are saying their is a HUGE debris field.

And this will continue to wreck havoc on our solar system and especially weather.

Will you confirm or deny, with proof.

What gauntlet? It's up to him to support his argument that it could redirect the moon to earth. So far he presented nothing. That which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. You are dismissed.

I'm saying asteroids don't have sizeable hill spheres with which to keep a "debris field" of any meaningful size attached to themselves. Anything traveling with the asteroid either hits you WITH the asteroid or misses you entirely. Comets leave behind debris because they're actively producing it. Asteroids only do that shortly after a collision with another object.
