Gluten allergy, so I don't care! I know the rest of you do, but so you have to eat some gluten-free shit! It's not bad once you get use to it!
 Quoting: Justthefacts12345

Probably NOT the gluten but the glyphosate. Farmers can and do spray their grain crops right before harvest just to KILL the wheat so all is ripened at the same time.

I live in the upper planes, yes the crops are not good here, but I know Farmers that have several thousand bu of crops in the bins,we(USA)have plenty for a few years.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72720837

No we don't...

Remember a few years back when some of us were sounding the alarm because warren Buffett was buying up all the grain silage and processors?

Remember last year and this year when for the first time EVER the US was a net soybean importer not exporter?

Remember how part of trump getting concessions from china was allowing them to buy ag products directly from the domestic commercial market pipeline?

Do you honestly believe joe Biden and warren Buffett are going to at least pause those trump deals made in desperation to make sure that US ag products and production go to Americans first because there's a shortage?

If I had just had to ask any single ONE of the above questions we'd be in trouble.

Since I had to ask all four though... What are the farmers going to do when the only processors who can take their bin stock sell that product out from under the American people and even the farmers themselves?

The problem is that these fuckers have been incredibly thorough in making sure that they can create not just shortages but actual mass starvation any time they so choose.

So no, we don't have enough to ride out a bad year. Nowhere near enough. In order to have enough we'd have needed american farmers to have bootstrapped an entirely new and farmer owned back end infrastructure between 2019 and now that they didn't build.

Make no mistake, they CAN starve us this fall and winter if they choose to.

How comfortable are you with depending on them not taking this opportunity to essentially finish us off?

I still don't understand why people knowingly eat GMO livestock feed. Grains are not for human consumption.

Most of the wheat farmers I know are adamant about not planting GMO seed. It's the large corporate farms (read China) that grow the high-yield GMO crap.Family farmers know that many foreign markets won't accept GMO wheat.

Spoke to some farmers that are harvesting right now. They say across the board that the wheat crop in the inland NW is absolutely horrible right now. They also told me that corn is bad as well.

Combine this with flooding in Asia, water issues in California, and we are in for a rough ride for global food production.

Not a good sign

If you're not watching IceAgeFarmer on bitchute and don't know about the coming food shortages that all MSM news sites across the world are saying WILL happen then you're in for a world of hurt. Start buying long term food and heirloom seeds now before they're illegal because of climate change or white supremacy or some shit.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80016404

OPEN POLINATED SEEDS

There are hundreds of open pollinated seeds available that are much cheaper than something marked Heirloom.

Last year during the run up to COVID seeds got hard to find and the prices went through the roof.

If you aren't growing a garden now, you need to pick the spot where you want one. Plan it. Dig it and prepare it now with plenty of organics and such to get ready.

It's still earlier enough that you could grow a fall garden in most parts of the USA.

In many areas of the country you can grow winter wheat, oats, rye and other grains over the winter.

Canning jars and lids are starting to be available again but the prices are through the roof as well.

Anyone who thinks their prepared because they have a bunch of heirloom seeds in a sealed can and have never grown garden are going to be in a world of hurt.

Good point, always buy local. If not possible, go with our (ancient) bodies needs and buy wheat from organic grocery stores - Einkorn, Spelt, Buckwheat, etc. - wheat with less chromosomes and chemicals.

We have had lots of rain and decent temperatures in east Texas and the 2 huge cornfields I pass are short and brown.

It worries me a little every time I see it.

I’d think it would have thrived with the rain and temps.

When the quality quantity or price of any grain up or down. Then all the other grains

Which means your meat eggs and processed fake meats will go up in price.

Don't worry--not a problem.

President Joe Xiden will simply nationalize all farming operations. In this way true productivity will be achieved--and all supplies issues become a thing of the past.

The "Grain Belt" is doing just fine. Thank You.

The amount of grains that the PNW contributes to the overall US /Canadian Grain Crop is very small.

It IS bad news for the individual farmers out there ... but in any given year someplace in the US usually is having it's agriculture stressed. One of the beauties of US Agriculture is that it covers enough geography that a bad crop in one part of the country virtually never migrates to the US as a whole, except for the truck farm vegetables in California /Arizona (and when those get hit we just import more from Mexico and South America).

Hopefully moisture can come to that area and part of the crop will be saved, but this is a very good example of why if you are a farmer you should BUY CROP INSURANCE!!

I keep track of World Grain Production, Yield, Use, Exports and Bggining and Ending Stocks monthly and have done so for at least 4 years. I kepthave track of it Quarterly for over 10 years.

I review State, Country and Regional reports from Official Government sources, Commercial and NGO groups and cross reference them monthly/Quarterly/Yearly depending on reporting schedules since they each have different motives to bias their reports.

World Grain Production is marginally up compared to use
with regional strong and weak spots.

The US has been a weak spot since 2019

World Yield is Average with regional strong and weak spots.

Export and use has been predictable compared to population growth predictions and actual save for China which is buying much more and storing it the last 2.5 years.

The Biggest Change I have seen is Beginning / Ending Stocks and Pricing.

This last month, in July reporting, Beginning/Ending stock was reduced 20%-45% in some grain sectors or about 4-6 months of use and export activity. which usually equates to ~8 months of Use and Export activity in those specific Grain sectors with reduced Begining / Ending stock world wide.

We have plenty of Grain World Wide and the US can more than take care of its own needs and then some.

The one anomaly that sticks out is China and is the catalyst for the pricing issues.

China's Beginning/Ending Stocks are almost 3 times more than Average and their buying activity is driving prices.

China has ~ 2.5 years of Grain stocks in storage when average is `8 months of total Grain use.

They appear to be getting ready for War in my opinion, but their is plenty of grain being produced otherwise.

Cost and distribution is another issue and as pointed out already, can be manipulated to cause whatever those in power desire.

Try oat milk, garbanzo pasta. Wheat and corn causes obesity, the leading cause of death when mixed with covid. #doom
