Texas Democrat Leader Gets Issued Arrest Warrant – GOP Speaker Orders Police To Take Rep. Cortez Into Custody

Recently, Texas Democrats fled the state to avoid a quorum in the House, to stop the state GOP from passing a series of voting bills.

It was done as a statement, and many leftist politicians supported it. But the state of Texas, including the Governor, thought differently.

And now, they’ve issued an arrest warrant for one of the “fleeing” Democrats.

Immediately after the Democrat representatives left the state, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott called for the arrest of those reps.

The protesting Democrats fled to Washington D.C., and likely didn’t expect action to be taken against them.

But Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan has already made his move.

He’s specifically going after a left-wing representative from the city of San Antonio. And when this individual returns, he’s to be taken into custody.

The Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, Dade Phelan, issued the civil warrant for the arrest of state Rep. Philip Cortez from San Antonio.

Phelan called on the Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Representatives to take Cortez “into your custody and safekeeping.”
