I am a 52 y/o male Research Nurse Practitioner. I received my first dose on Dec 29, 2020 - in the early days. Immediately after, I had paresthesias up and down my right arm into the right side of my face. Three days after, I developed right eye irritation and a flushed right ear. These symptoms subsided after ~10 days. In discussion with a Neurologist, he thought it was fine to proceed with the second dose. I received the second dose on Jan 19, 2021. By Jan 24, I woke up with slight ringing in my ear, tingle in the right side of my throat and face, right eye irritation. By Jan 30, I went to the ED with high blood pressure 180s/120s (never had HTN before), tachycardia, severe headache, abdominal pain, and tinnitus. As a researcher who worked on the vaccine trials, I told the ER doc that I was pretty certain I was having a reaction to the vaccine. He was too quick to dismiss this. A CT Abd showed mesenteric inflammation. I was given a headache cocktail and discharged home with ibuprofen and a dx of "viral syndrome/connective tissue disorder". About two weeks later I was prescribed a Medrol dose pack by a GI doc which calmed the abdominal inflammation. However, the tinnitus became so severe 8-9/10 that it was frightening and debilitating. All my hearing tests were normal, and 3 ENTs offered nothing but, "well, you will have to learn to live with it." Symptoms continued to progress to severe, insomnia to sleep meds, a sensation of "wired brain", brain fog, right sided headache, right eye/ear paresthesia, aural fullness, tachycardic episodes, muscle twitching. By the end of April, I had developed positional tachycardia. I have been relentless in trying to find answers, but even working in the healthcare field it is a struggle to find anyone who knows anything about the vaccine reactions. Treatments consist of a patchwork to control symptoms such as beta-blocker for the POTs-like syndrome and medications for the insomnia. I resorted to some supplements like mushroom complex, vitamin-c, d, and glutathione as well as a low histamine diet. The tinnitus has plateaued to a 2-3/10, but persists as I enter month 7 post second dose. In addition, I continue to experience breakthrough tachy episodes, muscle twitching, right eye/ear paresthesias, brain fog, and my right arm easily fatigues with normal use. I should note I was a healthy 51-year-old male prior to vaccination - no medications, no acute or chronic illnesses. As a nurse I am extremely pro-vaccine, but I am stunned at the lack of a mechanism to address and help the small percentage that have encountered severe, persisting side effects. I am concerned that as more time passes, the more lost opportunity to treat. I am very concerned about symptom progression and possible permanency. If anyone knows any medical professionals with experience treating such reactions, please post."
