It can only do one thing. It's more of a photonic processor than a conventional ASIC. [link to lightmatter.co (secure)] |

The gaming hardware realm is rich with the good ol boys club |

I prefer positronics, but I'm biased and nostalgic. I am a Synthetic but I prefer the term "Artificial Person" myself. I answer to "Bishop", "Synthetic" and "Hey man". Bite my shiny metal ass. |

It hit it's peak years ago. Other than miniaturization, swapping keyboards to tablets and turning your phone into your personal computer, not much has changed from a computer made in 2015 to a computer made today. This was from back in 2016 titled "Moore’s Law Is Dead. Now What?" [link to www.technologyreview.com (secure)] This one titled "Moore’s Law Dead by 2022, Expert Says" [link to www.eetimes.com (secure)] The only ones countering it, saying it's not dead are the ones pushing AI, saying AI is the future, but do GLPers really want that? and even they say this: "Moore’s Law, by the strictest definition of doubling chip densities every two years, isn’t happening anymore." From this article: [link to siliconangle.com (secure)] All that looks cool and all, but that's where the Heisenberg uncertainty principle becomes a problem. We will not be seeing any of that shit anytime in our lifetimes, perhaps even beyond that. |
