Does attractiveness have a negative correlation with being a good romantic partner?
"If you want to be happy for the rest of your life. Never make a pretty woman your wife."

That quote is from the old song "If You Wanna Be Happy" by Jimmy Soul. I am not a fan of the song, but it expresses the point of this thread.

My theory is that very attractive people don't have to try to be successful at romance usually, so they usually aren't good at it. I have heard that generally the better looking a woman is, the worse she is at sex. That has not been my experience, but the theory I am expressing here has been true for me overall.

I think the more appropriate song to express my point here is "It's So Easy" by Guns N Roses. The song is a good description of a bad romantic partner.

Romance isn't sex, but some sort of mixture between fun sex and the socially mandated relationships under a Christian society. If people were more promiscuous, then they would all be more beautiful, but then the ugly people who wrote the Bible would never get laid or control the sexuality of those who could, so nuclear holocaust I guess.

you just have to look around. attractive people get all the doors opened for them and never have to see the side of life that makes boys men and girls women. so. what do you think they often turn out to be?

Doesn't matter. That's not what beautiful people are for.

Re: Does attractiveness have a negative correlation with being a good romantic partner?
It has a negative correlation with basically everything positive that falls outside of perception honestly. Usually cokes with low IQ, low morals, low empathy, low character etc. That's just a result of media having trained entire generations to worship appearance to the detriment of all else, so the people that fall into the cardboard cutout of what is worshipped on TV and social media never really have to develop any sort of humanity or character because they are coddled like children and fed narcissism their whole lives. It's not their fault I guess, it's just the system we live in usually results in the "good looking" people developing as narcissistic, egotistical, petty, validation seeking, childish, insecure, low character individuals. After all, has anyone or anything in this world ever given them any reason to be anything else? Of course not. Reality usually breaks them in further down the line but it's usually too late by then.

To those people who think being a "Chad" means everything for a man when it comes to romance, just look at Axle Rose from that time period. He sang that song. He was not a "Chad."

It was already like that for me in kindergarten. What you're describing is a basic part of being human. "Media" can't change something so essential to what we are.

Not in my experience. It depends on the person.

Blackmail, coercion, and lies by omission would fit pretty well into that list of personality traits, I think.

Media makes men cut their own genitals off and makes women murder their own offspring brother. Make no mistake, perception is everything. The whole brain is just input output at its core. Human behaviour is light years removed from anything natural or biological at this point. We've been artificially twisted by our artificial environment for decades now. Human sexuality is more a learned behavior than a biological function these days. What the eyes see the mind remembers.

depends on ego dimensions
in other words, how many incarnations
moral reasoning takes about 250 miliseconds
we make errors in between
perception->relation->behaviour

What makes for a good relationship is trust, shared interests, sexually compatible, laughter, monogamy, a shared sense of adventure, humor and curiosity. One can still discover new things about their partner/each other over the years which keeps life interesting.
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.
