Billionaire Clive Palmer is launching a fresh High Court challenge against the West Australian government – this time over its “vaccine passport”.


WA Premier Mark McGowan announced last week exempt travellers from NSW would be required to show proof they had received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine and returned a negative PCR test 72 hours before arrival.



But Mr Palmer claims the move, which will come into effect on Tuesday, is in breach of section 117 of the Australian Constitution and discriminates against the people of NSW.



The mining magnate said he would begin a High Court challenge against Mr McGowan and the WA government.


“By restricting free movement of Australian citizens within Australia and creating an island-within-an-island, the WA Covid-19 eradication strategy is unconstitutional,” Mr Palmer said in a statement on Monday.

“We are seeing data from millions of people in the UK and Israel that shows conclusively in regards to the Delta variant that the vaccines do close to, or absolutely nothing, to stopping Covid infection.

“The vaccines do nothing to stop the spread of Covid-19 given that the infection rate in vaccinated and unvaccinated people is close to identical.

“I have briefed a team of solicitors and will be commencing proceedings within the next 14 days.”

Speaking to 6PR’s Liam Bartlett, Mr Palmer said he believes the approvals process for coronavirus vaccines has been too quick.



“Whether or not you personally want to have the vaccine for your own protection, or for a treatment that should really be an individual decision,” he said.

“I’m not an anti-vaxxer generally, my main issue is we have got a very good system in Australia, or we did have for approving vaccinations, but this should be no different.

“We shouldn’t make shortcuts with peoples lives.”



But despite publicly apposing the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, Mr Palmer refused to say whether he’s had the jab or not himself.


“This is really a debate about what is best for Western Australia … I would never discuss my own health records publicly.”

Clive Palmer did not commit suicide.

Palmer lost the last suit against WA Gov after McGowan changed the law to block.

Probably the same thing will happen. McGowan and Co will find some excuse to justify their actions.

However, I believe the main goal of Palmer is to raise awareness.
I'll join the class action when it opens.

PS - I live in WA and I refuse to believe that our dearest Overlord has a 90% approval rating. What hogwash.
Then again, 90% of WA population live in Perth and Suburbs. Might be saying something, hey?

Yeah, Clive Palmer really painted a target on his back.

He's been fighting for Hydroxycloroquine and Ivermectin. Even paid millions to secure a stockpile to distribute free of charge, which was confiscated by Customs and destroyed.

Had a failed lawsuit last year to stop the inter-State borders closing and restricted travel.

I can't say I've ever been a fan of this man and his views. Typical capitalist.
But sometimes we find accord, even with those we generally disagree with.
