He took it back to the bank and a teller told him something to the effect ..." they get large quantities of notes in at the same time and sometimes the fake ones make it through screening"... this is absolutely ridiculous..... i didnt believe it at first....but how the hell are banks passing off fake notes? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 342098easiest way to get the unsuspecting public to accept the fake notes, then arrest them for having them in their possession. i don't like the debit/credit cards, as your purchases can be traced, but use it rather than going to the ATM and risking getting fake bills and a court date. If I need cash, will go to the bank teller, that way there is a video record of where I received the cash. folks need to be aware of the fake notes out there. you need to examine your money when you receive it. Make sure all the watermarks match the rest of the bill; make sure that th little strip inside the bill matches as well. Right now there is a scam of $5 or $10 bills, turning up as $20 or $100's. Only way to tell is to look at the little strip inside the bill. It states what the currency for that bill is. These bills due pass the pen tests, as they are stripping the ink from the paper and reprinting, so be aware. |
